Kaiser-Pilling Instruments<br />
Now, instruments designed specifically for <strong>thoracoscopy</strong> that<br />
deliver the versatility you require and the feel to which you<br />
are accustomed.<br />
These Thoracoscopy Instruments were designed by Pilling in<br />
conjunction with Larry R. Kaiser, M.D., of the University of<br />
Pennsylvania. Combining these unique, new instruments with<br />
a “No-Cannula” technique provides you with a versitility not<br />
found before in <strong>thoracoscopy</strong> procedures.<br />
Elimination of cannulas allows use of traditional patterns of<br />
instruments that have been elongated and shaped to meet the<br />
special needs of the thoracoscopist. These new dimensioned<br />
instruments give you the familiar feel, weight, and balance to<br />
which you are accustomed. This means you can rely on the<br />
practiced hand movements used in open procedures. The<br />
accessories extend your “reach” even further.<br />
Other advantages of the “No-Cannula” procedure using<br />
these instruments are:<br />
• Reduced patient costs since fewer cannulas are required<br />
• Palpation of lesions is permitted<br />
• Number of incisions minimized as instrument length and<br />
shape permit access to all areas of the thoracic cavity<br />
