These instruments are for use in inspection of the<br />
mediastinum through a short incision in the suprasternal<br />
notch and a passage dissected down along the anterior<br />
surface of the trachea. A variety of instruments are available<br />
for use in obtaining tissue specimens under direct vision.<br />
The short mediastinoscope is suitable for inspection of the<br />
mediastinum above the bifurcation. The long and extra long<br />
models are for the region of the carina.<br />
