MAIDEN IN INDIANA GRAND <strong>QHRAI</strong> DERBY<br />

Vega Francisco’s Jhony Red surprised the field in Saturday’s $105,160 in Indiana Grand<br />

<strong>QHRAI</strong> Derby, getting his first career win by half-a-length under jockey Harold Collins.<br />

Backers were rewarded with a $35.00 $2 win payoff.<br />

The Loren Brocka trainee covered the 350 yards in a quick :17.687 seconds to earn a<br />

98 speed index and pickup the winner’s purse of $57,838. The lightly raced Corona Casanova<br />

colt is 1-1-1 in five starts. Gerald Case Rogers bred the sorrel from the Strawfly<br />

Special mare Special Gilda. He came into the race as the final qualifier after finishing<br />

third in the June 18 trials.<br />

Mo Zoomo, a Shazoom colt out of Stylish Form, by The Signature, earned $21,032 for<br />

owner/trainer Sacramento Chavez. Victor Olivo had the riding assignment aboard the<br />

Vaughn and Jill Cook Oklahoma-bred. He has earned nearly $50,000 in eight starts.<br />

$10,516 for owner Edward Scott. Gene Cox trains the Hotdoggin<br />

gelding bred in Texas from the Man In The Money mare Mitey Mans<br />

Missel. The second place check doubled his career total to $20,316.<br />

Bred by James and Linda Whitener, he was ridden by Troy Crissup.<br />

Eye Walk, Eye Slip Bye, This Panther Purrs, Valor And Glory, Bv Eye<br />

Am Ridin Easy, Tf First Pick and Pescado Fuerte completed the<br />
