Drawing What You See

Learn to get in touch with your surroundings,
the visible world around
you, and draw what you see – not what
you think. Sessions will include drawing
outdoors (weather permitting) or
indoors, using sketchbooks and pencils
for drawing variations: Blind Half-Blind,
Regular Observation. Learn Sfumato,
Ciaroscuro, Tenebrism, Grisaille and
other thematic styles. Required art
supplies: sketchbook, soft pencil 4B,
eraser, pencil sharpener.

stone, stripes and/or marbeling faux finishes.
All are created with household and/or craft
paint and tools from hardware or craft stores.

Lyall and Hopper, from Woolworth
to Teddy Roosevelt, to Steiglitz. The
collectors, patrons, and critics of this
watershed exhibit that included 1200
works by American and European artists
will be introduced and discussed,
as we celebrate the 100th anniversary
of this notable event in art history.
