Rita Plush, MA, President, Rita Plush Interiors,

Accessories, including art and the right hardware,
animate and enliven a room, making
it inviting and uniquely personal. Learn to
accessorize with pillows, frames, pedestals,
table and wall sculpture, while you educate
your color eye and learn how to plan a color
scheme for one room or an entire house. You
will learn the color wheel and mix your own
paints. Includes a visit to the exciting home
furnishings market to see the latest accessories
and color trends.

Discover how the foundational principles of
the Chinese art of placement can dramatically
improve your life. Learn how to enhance your
home and workplace to benefit and support
changes in your health, wealth, career and
relationships. Use the 'bagua' energetic life map
to shift your emotional and spiritual well being.
Feng Shui meditation will also be taught to
remove negative influences and build up your
inner ch'i. A movie will be viewed of a Feng Shui
consultation, to look at the spatial and aesthetic
design of a room from this new perspective.
Please bring a new, unused Chinese or
American red envelope (easily obtained at
Kinko's or Staples) with $1 inside to present
to the instructor at the first session as a part
of the time-honored tradition of Feng Shui.

Decorative Faux Painting

Learn hands-on techniques for creating beautiful
walls with sponging, rag rolling, faux brick and
stone, stripes and/or marbeling faux finishes.
All are created with household and/or craft
paint and tools from hardware or craft stores.

Professional Development
BOOK READING: Alterations
Rita Plush, Coordinator of the Interior Design/Decorating Certificate Program will talk about
and read from her short story collection Alterations (Penumbra Publishing, 2013). Many of
the stories are set in the 1940’s and reference the fashions and home furnishings of the era.
Rita will discuss how stories connect us and how the collection came together: some
stories were written twenty years ago and some last spring. She will explore how writing
short stories differs from writing a novel. There will be a Q & A after her presentation,
followed with a book signing.
