accessorize with pillows, frames, pedestals,<br />

Professional Development<br />

BOOK READING: Alterations<br />

Rita Plush, Coordinator of the Interior Design/Decorating Certificate Program will talk about<br />

and read from her short story collection Alterations (Penumbra Publishing, <strong>2013</strong>). Many of<br />

the stories are set in the 1940’s and reference the fashions and home furnishings of the era.<br />

Rita will discuss how stories connect us and how the collection came together: some<br />

stories were written twenty years ago and some last spring. She will explore how writing<br />

short stories differs from writing a novel. There will be a Q & A after her presentation,<br />

followed with a book signing.<br />
