as well as the aesthetic beauty <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong>, all Proposers are reminded that the following<br />

rules and considerations will be required when making deliveries to any <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Connecticut</strong> campus:<br />

‣ Driving speeds on campus must be kept at a maximum <strong>of</strong> 25 mph to ensure maximum<br />

safety. Pedestrians have the right <strong>of</strong> way at all times.<br />

‣ All traffic signs, lights or other indicators are to be obeyed. This is <strong>of</strong> utmost<br />

importance given the amount <strong>of</strong> construction and pedestrians on campus.<br />

‣ Driving on sidewalks, unless otherwise posted, is forbidden. Violators will be ticketed<br />

and chronic violators may be barred from doing business with the <strong>University</strong>. In those<br />

areas where sidewalk driving is permitted and required, drivers must employ adequate<br />

skills so as to avoid driving on adjacent green spaces.<br />

‣ It is preferable that deliveries to any facility loading dock be made utilizing a<br />

maximum sized 24’, 6-wheel saddle truck. To facilitate other deliveries, it is<br />

imperative delivery trucks have the capability to <strong>of</strong>f load large quantities (pallets) in<br />

short periods <strong>of</strong> time. Commissary warehouse deliveries must be limited to a<br />

maximum <strong>of</strong> 50 cases delivered by saddle truck only.<br />

The following rules and regulations provide guidance and information when bringing a vehicle<br />

onto the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> CT Storrs Campus. These policies follow <strong>Connecticut</strong> State Statute 10A-<br />

139 and are intended to provide control and availability <strong>of</strong> campus parking. All students,<br />

employees, vendors, visitors, contractors, etc., who park a motor vehicle on campus are subject<br />

to these rules and regulations.<br />

It is the responsibility <strong>of</strong> all individuals operating a motor vehicle on campus to be aware <strong>of</strong><br />

and abide by the parking policies contained in this literature. Operating a vehicle on campus is<br />

deemed evidence <strong>of</strong> the vehicle operator's acceptance and understanding <strong>of</strong> these policies.<br />

Parking on the Storrs campus is strictly regulated and is allowed only in paved, lined areas.<br />

Parking on lawns, grounds, or sidewalks is strictly prohibited. Parking during the hours <strong>of</strong> 7AM<br />

and 5PM, Monday through Friday is by permit only. Some areas are restricted beginning at<br />

5AM or for 24 hours (as posted). Violators will be ticketed and are subject to towing.<br />

Parking in the North and South Garage is available for vehicles for a daily fee. There is no<br />

overnight parking available in the garages.<br />

The Storrs campus is primarily a pedestrian campus. All motor vehicles must stop for<br />

pedestrians in crosswalks according to <strong>Connecticut</strong> State law. The maximum speed limit on<br />
