<strong>Addendum</strong> # 1 <strong>RFP</strong> <strong>#JL050913</strong>, <strong>Develop</strong> <strong>Public</strong> <strong>Relations</strong>/<strong>Image</strong> Building Campaign<br />
All respondents are hereby advised of the following addendum to the Request for Proposal document(s) which<br />
are made an integral part of the bid documents. Respondents are required to acknowledge receipt of this<br />
addendum by initialing on the “Form of Proposal”, a required submittal with their proposal response, as well as<br />
include a signed copy of this addendum with their <strong>RFP</strong> response.<br />
Below are responses to inquiries received prior to the deadline established in section 1.7 of the subject <strong>RFP</strong>:<br />
Q. Can you provide an estimated budget, both monthly and annually, for the PR services the University is<br />
seeking?<br />
A. The University estimates the annual budget for this public relations campaign not to exceed $36,000.00<br />
annually, or $3,000.00/month. Although, it is important to note while the University has provided the<br />
aforementioned estimated budget, the total amount expected to be expended as a result of this engagement<br />
may be subject to change. Further, it is incumbent upon the Respondent to note that all pricing, terms and<br />
conditions proposed are subject to negotiation at the sole discretion of the University.<br />
Q. Is enrollment at the School of Law increasing or decreasing? What is the impetus for the public relations<br />
initiative?<br />
A. The School of Law is, as are many other law schools across the country, subject to a decreasing level of<br />
enrollment. This public relations initiative, as outlined in the <strong>RFP</strong>, is being implemented as a tool to assist in<br />
raising the profile of the UCONN Law School on a national basis.<br />
Q. Does the School of Law currently utilize an external public relations firm, advertising firm, or advertising<br />
agency? If so, whom?<br />
A. No.<br />
Q. What is the structure of the communications/marketing staff at the School of Law?<br />
A. The law school Communications Department consists of the Director of Communications and one (1) fulltime<br />
Electronic Marketing Specialist.<br />
Q. Whom would the agency report to?<br />
A. The agency contracted as a result of this <strong>RFP</strong> will report to the Director of Communications of the School of<br />
Law.<br />

Q. Quarterly billing puts an undue burden on the agency. Would the University consider monthly billing which<br />
is the universal practice in the industry?<br />
A. Should a Respondent feel it necessary to take exception to the payment schedule as outlined in section 2.21,<br />
said exception must be clearly outlined on a separate document titled 'Exceptions to Terms and Conditions' as<br />
required per the <strong>RFP</strong> terms and conditions. As a reminder, all exceptions are subject to University approval<br />
and are subject to negotiation.<br />
BIDDER NOTE: This addendum must be completed, signed and submitted with your proposal response to be<br />
considered for award. If you have already submitted a proposal, please complete the addendum and submit same<br />
in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with the <strong>RFP</strong> number, response date, and return address. This will be<br />
accepted as part of your proposal response, PROVIDING IT IS RECEIVED BY THE PURCHASING<br />
DEPARTMENT BY THE TIME AND DATE SPECIFIFED IN ADDENDUM # 1, OR AS AMENDED BY<br />
THIS DOCUMENT. Further, all terms, conditions and specifications modified by this addendum shall<br />
supersede and terms, conditions, and/or specifications of the original <strong>RFP</strong> document.<br />
