Aircraft Carriers<br />

Margaret Curran: To ask the Secretary of State for<br />

Defence which companies have been awarded subcontracts<br />

for construction of HMS Queen Elizabeth<br />

and HMS Prince of Wales; at which sites he expects<br />

work under each such contract to be carried out; and<br />

what the monetary value is of each such contract.<br />

Armed Forces: Public Transport<br />

Ian Austin: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence<br />

what the 10 most frequently undertaken journeys on<br />

domestic public transport by military personnel were in<br />

2012. [157987]<br />

Dr Murrison: The most frequent journeys in 2012<br />

were:<br />

Andover—London<br />

Catterick Garrison—Darlington<br />

Bristol—London<br />

High Wycombe—London<br />

Chippenham—London<br />

London—Swindon<br />

Portsmouth Harbour—London<br />

Salisbury—London<br />

London—Princes Risborough<br />

London—Newark<br />

The list only provides details of travel booked through<br />

the Hogg Robinson Group contract with the Ministry<br />

of Defence; any travel booked and paid for outside the<br />

contract is not included. The travel will include duty<br />

journeys, meetings, courses, postings, resettlement, medicals<br />

etc.<br />

Army: Officers<br />

Angus Robertson: To ask the Secretary of State for<br />

Defence how many (a) brigadiers, (b) major generals,<br />

(c) lieutenant generals and (d) generals are posted in<br />

(i) Scotland, (ii) Wales, (iii) Northern Ireland and (iv)<br />

Dr Murrison: Senior military personnel are distributed<br />

across the UK according to military capability requirements,<br />

not on a proportional basis.<br />
