Properties
ABIL ® B 88183 and ABIL ® B 88184 silicone polyethers
are non-ionic copolymers produced by linking of
long-chain polyether groups with polydimethyl
siloxane. In aqueous solutions ABIL ® B 88183 and
ABIL ® B 88184 behave like conventional organic nonionic
surfactants: They decrease the surface tension
of aqueous solutions, are able to form micelles and
show a characteristic cloud point, when heated,
because of their inverse solubility behaviour.
The silicone part causes a remarkable decrease of
surface tension.
Due to the silicone part ABIL ® B 88183 and ABIL ® B
88184 show excellent properties in cosmetic
applications.
ABIL ® B 88183 is a 35 % aq. solution of
ABIL ® B 88184.
Application
• shampoos
• shower and bath preparations
• soaps and syndet bars (ABIL ® B 88184)
ABIL ® B 88183
• By using ABIL ® B 88183 in surfactant
formulations a soft and tight foam of good
stability can be achieved.
• Pleasant refatting effect on skin and hair.
ABIL ® B 88184
• ABIL ® B 88184 can be used as an additive in soaps
or syndet bars in order to improve plasticity.
• Soap bars, which are produced by using 0.5 -
1.0 % ABIL ® B 88184 do not tend to crack when
they are used.
• In the production process manufacture is more
easy.
• 100 % active version of ABIL ® B 88183. It leads to
the same results when it is used in cosmetic
formulations.

Carbomer solution a precipitate appears, which
disappears after neutralizing with NaOH.
This hair gel is very susceptible to microbial
