Chemical and physical properties
Form
Properties
liquid
The very good thickening properties combined with
easy handling make ANTIL ® 200 to a universal
thickening agent. A pleasant refatting effect can be
achieved by using ANTIL ® 200. Cosmetic
formulations, which are thickened by ANTIL ® 200,
show a nearly ideal viscous rheology. Whereas in
comparison systems thickened with Cocamide DEA,
Laureth-3 or NaCl, exhibit a strong shear thinning
flow behaviour.
While ANTIL ® 200 is a surface active agent, it is a
good solubilizer for perfumes or ester oils, too.
High levels of perfume or ester oils may be
solubilized without turbidity.
Due to the solubility/disperseability in water, ANTIL ®
200 can be added at any phase of the production
process, even into the final formulation as long as
the surfactant solids are greater than 5 %. Due to the
low viscosity and good solubility of ANTIL ® 200,
specialized process equipment is not necessary.
The high efficiency of ANTIL ® 200 is shown in Fig. 1.
The length of the bars show the quantity of ANTIL ®
200 which is necessary to get a viscosity of approx.
3 500 mPas.
Application
ANTIL ® 200 is suitable for thickening of all common
surfactant systems such as
• Shampoos
• Shower gels
• Foam baths
Processing
ANTIL ® 200 is processable at room temperature. Its
viscosity makes it feasable for use in a continuous
production. If ANTIL ® 200 shows partial
crystallisation due to low storage temperatures, heat
to app. 40 °C and mix until uniform before using.
Packaging
880 kg pallet (4 x 220 kg drum)
Storage hint
Clouding due to cold temperatures is possible.
In case of separation, ANTIL ® 200 has to be
homogenized before processing.
Hazardous goods classification
Information concerning
• classification and labelling according to
regulations for transport and for dangerous
substances
• protective measures for storage and handling
• measures in accidents and fires
• toxicity and ecological effects
is given in our material safety data sheets.
