Eucharistic Adoration
“Do whatever He tells you!” (Jn 2:5)
Being faithful to this request from the Holy Mother
of God can bring joy and peace to our souls. This
is advice from our Mother who loves us very much
and knows what is best for her children. Visit her
Son during Eucharistic Adoration and pay attention
to what He is asking of you.
Adoration begins every Wednesday at noon
and ends at 8:00 p.m.
BAPTISMS—Parents may contact Fr. Doyle
after Mass to arrange a baptism.
MARRIAGES—should be arranged at least
six months in advance of the desired wedding
date. Please phone the rectory and make an
appointment with Fr. Doyle. This should be
done prior to making any other arrangements.
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION

Confessions will also be heard by appointment

It can be a little scary to do as God asks – to give Him the
first fruits of our time, talent and treasure. The comforting
words the angel spoke to Mary can comfort us, too, when
we strive to be good Christian stewards – “Do not be
afraid.”

We have some GOOD NEWS to share
Helping clients eat healthier and cheaper
When clients come to the food pantry, we give them a food voucher which they
can use to purchase groceries at Shop N Save.
We were reviewing the client’s duplicate cash receipts that come with the bill
from Shop n Save. We noticed many non-nutritional items were being purchased.
We also noticed some expensive items when lower cost alternatives
were available.
We discussed various ways on how to deal with this and finally decided on an
educational program. We took a stack of duplicate cash register receipts and
made a list of 10 most unhealthy and expensive items being purchased.
We then developed a healthy alternative for each item and the benefit it provided.
We incorporated this information into a “Nutritious Eating – Try Again On These
Food Items” document which is given to clients anytime they are issued a food
voucher.
Since there is a lot of current interest in healthier food, we thought our parishioners
might be interested in this information. You can download this information
will be available soon on the parish website www.stmike.org, click on healthy
eating.

Hello Families of St. Michael the Archangel –
As our Christmas break is quickly approaching – we of
course decided to try to fit as many things into this week as we possibly
could! This week was full of prayer, celebration and song! We
kicked off the week with an all school prayer service to honor the
Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Monday morning. Our sixth
grade led us in this great tribute to Our Lady complete with costumes
and sombreros. Thursday, our 3 rd -8 th grade students participated in
Reconciliation services as part of our preparation for the coming of
Christ. With the hectic nature of this time of year, it is wonderful that
we have an opportunity to take time away from our studies to spend
in reflection and reconnection with our faith.
Thursday evening was our annual Christmas Concert. What
great joy! I have been watching and listening as the students have
been preparing for this concert for months now, but I could not have
predicted how great the show was going to be! They sang with such
great enthusiasm, and the play was well done. The joy from the performance
was contagious! Mr. Fradkin, Mrs. Mantych, Mrs.
McDaniel and all of the students should be very proud! Then Friday
morning, our preschoolers took their turn performing. After weeks of
preparation, their songs also expressed the joy and sweetness of this
Advent season.
As if this was not exciting enough – last Sunday and this
past Tuesday, the St. Michael’s School Board hosted campus tours
for the Annunciation families who will soon be making a choice of
which Holy Cross Academy Campus is the best fit for their K-5 th
grade students. Both the afternoon and the evening were wellattended
and gave us yet another opportunity to meet and befriend
people from the other parishes. As our community grows and expands,
I am ever more impressed with the openness in people’s
hearts and their willingness to welcome one another as we now share
in this journey of faith. Thanks to all the school board members and
the wonderful marketing committee for making the event such a
great success!

4th Month Development
for Our Unborn Babies
Your baby's mother can now feel her tiny
babe in her womb. She will be 6 inches
long at the end of this month! His tiny
heart has been beating since he was 21 days old, and now
pumps 6 gallons of blood every day! She is becoming stronger
and likes to turn somersaults. The baby will now begin to hear
sounds! He has lots of nice skin but not much fat to fill it out
so he looks a little wrinkly. Her skin is covered with vernix, a
thick white cream which protects her skin from the salty amniotic
fluid. But your baby's face is becoming prettier and
begins to resemble his(her) parents.
Don’t forget to pray for your baby!

are buses going to Washington DC to march against this decision.
