<strong>AST</strong> Mid-Cap Value Portfolio<br />

EARNEST Segment. Paul Viera, the founder of EARNEST Partners, is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of the<br />

portion of the Portfolio managed by EARNEST. Mr. Viera was a Vice President at Bankers <strong>Trust</strong> in both New York and London. He later<br />

joined INVESCO, where he became a Global Partner and senior member of its Investment Team. Mr. Viera is a member of the Atlanta<br />

Society of Financial Analysts and has over 25 years of investment experience. He serves on several boards, including North Carolina<br />

Outward Bound. He is also a commentator for several news organizations, such as CNBC, Radio Wall Street and the Atlanta Journal<br />

Constitution. Mr. Viera has a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Harvard Business School.<br />

WEDGE Segment. Paul M. VeZolles, John G. Norman, and Caldwell Calame are responsible for the day-to-day management of the<br />

portion of the Portfolio managed by WEDGE.<br />

Paul M. VeZolles, CFA, General Partner, is the lead mid-cap analyst on the team. Mr. VeZolles has twenty-five years of investment<br />

experience and is responsible for equity research on companies with market capitalizations between $1 billion and $15 billion. Prior<br />

to joining WEDGE in 1995, Mr. VeZolles was an Equity Analyst at Palley-Needelman <strong>Asset</strong> Management in Newport Beach,<br />

California, and an Equity Analyst with CMB Investment Counselors in Los Angeles. Mr. VeZolles received his Bachelor of Arts degree<br />

in Economics from Indiana University and his Master of Arts in Economics from DePaul University.<br />

John G. Norman, General Partner, has eighteen years of investment experience and is responsible for portfolio management and<br />

client service. Prior to joining WEDGE in 2004, Mr. Norman was a Senior Vice President at Banc of America Capital Management.<br />

He was formerly associated with Brown Brothers Harriman, Wheat First Butcher Singer, and William M. Mercer Investment<br />

Consulting. Mr. Norman received his Bachelor of Business Administration - Finance from The College of William and Mary.<br />

Caldwell Calame, CFA, Executive Vice President, has sixteen years of investment experience and is responsible for portfolio<br />

management and client service. Prior to joining WEDGE in 2007, Mr. Calame was a Director and Institutional Relationship Manager<br />

at Columbia Management, the asset management group of Bank of America. He was formerly associated with Bank of America in<br />

multiple groups including Banc of America Capital Management and Banc of America Investor Services. Mr. Calame received his<br />

Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at The University of the South at Sewanee. He also received his Masters of Business<br />

Administration degree at Wake Forest University, the Babcock Graduate School of Management.<br />

<strong>AST</strong> Neuberger Berman Mid-Cap Growth Portfolio<br />

The Portfolio is managed by Kenneth J. Turek. Mr. Turek has managed or co-managed two equity mutual funds and other equity<br />

portfolios for several other investment managers since 1985. Mr. Turek is a Managing Director of Neuberger Berman Management<br />

LLC.<br />

<strong>AST</strong> Neuberger Berman / LSV Mid-Cap Value Portfolio<br />

Neuberger Berman Segment. The portfolio manager responsible for the day-to-day management of the segment of the Portfolio<br />

managed by Neuberger Berman is S. Basu Mullick.<br />

Mr. Mullick is a Managing Director of Neuberger Berman Management LLC, and portfolio manager on the Mid Cap Value and Large<br />

Cap Value teams. He joined the firm in 1998. Previously, he spent five years at Ark <strong>Asset</strong> Management Co., Inc., as a senior manager<br />

and a managing director. He also worked as an analyst and portfolio manager at John A. Levin Co. and as a portfolio manager at First<br />

Fidelity Bank. Basu began his career in 1982 as an analyst at PaineWebber, Inc. He received a B.A. from Presidency College in India<br />

and a M.A., A.B.D., from Rutgers University.<br />

LSV Segment. The portfolio managers responsible for the day-to-day management of the segment of the Portfolio managed by LSV are<br />

Josef Lakonishok, Menno Vermeulen, CFA, and Puneet Mansharamani, CFA.<br />

Mr. Lakonishok has served as CEO, CIO, Partner and Portfolio Manager for LSV since its founding in 1994. He has more than 30<br />

years of investment and research experience. Mr. Vermeulen has served as a Portfolio Manager and Senior Quantitative Analyst of<br />

LSV since 1995 and a Partner since 1998. He has more than 18 years of investment experience. Prior to joining LSV, Mr. Vermeulen<br />

served as a portfolio manager for ABP Investments. Mr. Mansharamani, CFA has served as a Partner and Portfolio Manager of LSV<br />

since 2006 and a Senior Quantitative Analyst of LSV since 2000. He has more than 11 years of investment experience. Prior to<br />

joining LSV, Mr. Mansharamani was an Analyst at Institutional <strong>Trust</strong> National City Corporation and a Systems Consultant for<br />

Maximations, Inc.<br />
