<strong>AST</strong> Jennison Large-Cap Growth Portfolio<br />
Michael A. Del Balso joined Jennison in 1972 and is a Managing Director of Jennison. He is also Jennison’s Director of Research for<br />
Growth Equity. Mr. Del Balso graduated from Yale University and received his M.B.A. from Columbia University.<br />
Mark D. Shattan, CFA, is a Managing Director of Jennison, which he joined in June 2008 after 10 years with Goldman Sachs <strong>Asset</strong><br />
Management, where he was a managing director responsible for blend and concentrated equity products. From 1999 through 2004,<br />
Mark was a senior portfolio manager for growth equities, investment committee co-chairman, and lead portfolio manager/analyst<br />
covering consumer stocks. He began his investment career in 1997 as a research associate covering gaming, lodging, and leisure<br />
stocks at Salomon Brothers. From 1991 through 1997, he served in the US and Europe as a US army officer. Mark graduated from the<br />
United States Military Academy with a B.S. in management science and system engineering. He received an M.B.A. from Florida<br />
Southern College.<br />
<strong>AST</strong> Jennison Large-Cap Value Portfolio<br />
David A. Kiefer, CFA, is a Managing Director of Jennison, which he joined in September 2000. He was appointed Jennison’s Head of<br />
Large Cap Value Equity in January 2004, having managed diversified large capitalization portfolios since 1999 and Large Cap Blend<br />
Equity assets since 2000. He managed the <strong>Prudential</strong> Jennison Utility Fund (formerly <strong>Prudential</strong>), from 1994 to mid-2005. He joined<br />
<strong>Prudential</strong>’s management training program in 1986. From 1988 to 1990, Mr. Kiefer worked at <strong>Prudential</strong> Power Funding Associates,<br />
making loans to the utility and power industry. He then left to attend business school, rejoining <strong>Prudential</strong> in equity asset<br />
management in 1992. Mr. Kiefer earned a B.S. from Princeton University and a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.<br />
Avi Z. Berg, is a Managing Director of Jennison, which he joined in January 2001. Prior to that, he was with Goldman Sachs <strong>Asset</strong><br />
Management from 1997 to 2000 as an Equity Research Associate for their small and mid cap value funds. From 1996 to 1997, Mr.<br />
Berg worked in equity research at Schroder Wertheim & Co. and Fir Tree Partners. From 1991 to 1995, he was a consultant with Price<br />
Waterhouse LLP. Mr. Berg received his A.B. in Economics magna cum laude from Harvard University and his M.B.A. in Finance and<br />
Accounting with honors and distinctions from Columbia Business School.<br />
<strong>AST</strong> JPMorgan International Equity Portfolio<br />
The portfolio manager responsible for the day-to-day management of the Portfolio is James WT Fisher. Mr. Fisher, a Managing<br />
Director of J.P. Morgan, is a portfolio manager in the Global Portfolio Group Equities Team based in London. He joined J.P. Morgan in<br />
1985.<br />
<strong>AST</strong> JPMorgan Strategic Opportunities Portfolio<br />
Michael Fredericks is a portfolio manager in the firm’s U.S. Global Multi-<strong>Asset</strong> Group, based in New York. An employee of J.P.<br />
Morgan since 2006, Michael is responsible for managing a diversified mutual fund, several insurance trust funds and a variety of<br />
institutional defined benefit accounts. Prior to joining the firm, he was a global equity analyst at Nicholas Applegate Capital<br />
Management and a global research manager at Callan Associates. Michael obtained a BA in Economics and History from the<br />
University of California Berkeley and a Masters of Pacific International Affairs with an emphasis in Latin America from the University<br />
of California San Diego.<br />
<strong>AST</strong> Large-Cap Value Portfolio<br />
Hotchkis and Wiley Segment. Hotchkis and Wiley manages institutional separate accounts and is the advisor and sub-advisor to<br />
mutual funds, including the Portfolio. The investment process employed is the same for similar accounts, including the Portfolio and<br />
is team-based utilizing primarily in-house, fundamental research. The investment research staff is organized by industry and sector<br />
and supports all of the accounts managed in each of the Hotchkis and Wiley investment strategies. Portfolio coordinators for each<br />
strategy ensure that the best thinking of the investment team is reflected in the “target portfolios”. Investment ideas for the Portfolio<br />
are generated by Hotchkis’ investment team. Hotchkis and Wiley has identified the portfolio managers with the most significant<br />
responsibility for the Portfolio. The list does not include all members of the investment team.<br />
George Davis, Judd Peters, Scott McBride, Patricia McKenna and Sheldon Lieberman participate in the investment research review<br />
and decision-making process for the Portfolio. Mr. McBride, Mr. Peters and Mr. Davis coordinate the day to day management of the<br />
Portfolio. Mr. Davis, Principal, Portfolio Manager and Chief Executive Officer, joined Hotchkis’ investment team in 1988. Mr. Peters,<br />
Portfolio Manager, joined Hotchkis’ investment team in 1999. Mr. McBride, Portfolio Manager, joined Hotchkis’ investment team in<br />
2001. Ms. McKenna, Principal and Portfolio Manager, joined Hotchkis’ investment team in 1995. Mr. Lieberman, Principal and<br />
