3) How did the students feel about the project? This class was treated as a special class or “topics” class. Students were invited. The requirement was that they had to receive at least an A- in both PR Writing and Public Relations classes. Students were very passionate about helping the children and AAH. They felt there was so much they could do to help AAH. They also wanted to leave a legacy. It was wonderful to watch their hard work and passion. 4) How did AAH feel about the students’ work? It was so wonderful to see the reaction of many members of the board from AAH hear all the great things the students achieved for them. The students also came up with a strategic plan on how the organization can grow their annual gala. The students also told AAH how much it would have cost the nonprofit had they billed the client for their work: about $70,000. That was wonderful and got the crowd excited and very grateful for all the work. The students left such an important legacy. One student, decided on her own, to go to Uganda after graduation. It was very a rewarding class and I was grateful to the students for their passion. Evaluation Arlington Academy of Hope was the perfect project for students who learned how to make a difference globally by helping a small organization here at home that provides help to children in Uganda. Helping others in a remote part of the world is not a challenge. The students also left a lasting gift to the organization by raising not only funds but visibility for AAH.
