At Miele – true to our company slogan – we are driven to deliver real value. 24/7, 365 days a year our products are subjected to excruciating longevity tests where they have to meet our quality benchmark of performing 5,000 programmes. On average, we assume that our customer would open and close the door 12 times from the time the first item is loaded until the end of a wash programme • Even after 600 hours of continuous spinning – that is 25 days on end – our washing machines are expected to function properly • In addition, the drain pump is tested at both cold and 95° hot water for 1,000 hours • The drive mechanism on our tumble dryers is tested for the whole 7,500 hours with 6 kg in the drum which is more than the rated load • The condensate pump has to withstand 10,000 hours continuous operation These are just a few examples of Miele’s extreme longevity testing. Parts that do not meet this standard will not be used in a Miele. These quality requirements are unique, we are confident that no oth er washing machine manufacturer tests to this level or extent. 6
Porcelain enamel Miele is the last of the laundry appliance manufacturers that enamels the front panels of their washing machines and tumble dryers. Your benefit: The scratch proof, porcelain – like material is resistant to mechanical impact which protects the underlying metal from rust ing. In addition, it is acid and suds proof and won’t yellow over time so that your Miele looks as new after many years of use. 100% testing While many manufacturers rely on statistical methods to ascertain the quality of their products and only test parts of their production run, each and every Miele washing machine is connected to water and electricity supplies and undergoes a complete function test to ascertain that it will live up to your expectations. In addition, random machines are selected to carry out the same longevity testing as described before – just to make sure that no slackness has crept in. Own customer service For complete peace of mind, at Miele you can rely on a team of company train ed service technicians. In the Metropolitan areas of Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban you will find, Miele Service Technicians, while in the other areas we use Miele Service Agents. Through close connections with the factory, Miele Service Techni cians and Agents are always up-to-date with the latest technology. Spare parts service As part of a comprehensive and out standing customer service, we hold the most important spare parts for up to 15 years after they have run out of production. With this you are not forced to buy a whole new machine should a single part submit to wear and tear. 7
