Tumble dryer features at a glance Looking at laundry through fresh eyes Electronic controls Miele tumble dryers have electronic controls which monitor the residual moisture level of the laundry to achieve precise drying results. Sensitive Drying System The tumble dryers also offer the benefits of Fuzzy Logic, allowing them to think for themselves. The water your clothes are washed in can vary in composition. The Sensitive Drying system can take the variations in conductivity into account and adjust the drying times accordingly. You will always achieve excellent, con sistent results. Buzzer A buzzer is fitted to all models of dryers and sounds when the drum turns during the intermittent anti-crease action period. On certain models the pitch can be altered. PC Update Like the washing machines, most tumble dryers have the PC Update facility to allow new programmes to be added to the machine at a later date. Countdown display Several models have a time left indicator to let you know how much longer your drying programme is likely to last. This is particularly useful when using the Sensitive Drying programmes, which do not have a set length. Programme sequence indicator The programme sequence indicator will keep you informed of the progress of your programme. This is a great help if you wish to remove an item while it is still damp enough to iron and leave the rest to dry completely. Programme delay Some models can be programmed up to 24 hours in advance, so you can plan your time and have more flexibility. On top of the range models you only need to set the time you want the programme to finish. Child resistant controls Most of our tumble dryers have a child resistant control panel. Once the programme has been running for three minutes, any alteration to the selected setting is ignored, so little fing ers cannot upset your programme. Clean out airways check light This light indicates that the filter or condenser unit is blocked and should be cleared. 24
Low temperature Lower temperatures are available on the cottons and minimum iron programmes and are ideal for delicate fabrics such as acrylics. Anti-crease action At the end of the drying programme, the drum continues to turn intermittently for up to an hour to prevent the washing from settling into creases and folds. Express programme Miele tumble dryers save time with the special moisture controlled “Express“ programme, leaving you with time for other more enjoyable tasks. This programme is suitable for cottons, has a specially adapted drum rhythm and operates at maximum heat continuously to dry laundry in the quickest time possible. Woollens Handcare This programme is designed to fluff up the fibres and is the ideal complement to the Handwash Woollens programme on the washing machines. It is not a drying programme. Smoothing This is an eight-minute programme for smoothing out fabrics of all types that are a little crumpled. It will not replace ironing but will help the process, and is ideal for those garments which are not safe to fully dry in a tumble dryer, and tend to be very creased when they come out of the washing machine. Gentle Smoothing The “Gentle smoothing” programme is designed to take advantage of the honeycomb drum and a special drum rhythm and so reduce ironing time by up to 30%. It takes the creases out of damp laundry before it is line dried. For laundry that is already dry it smooths out any creasing in a 20 minute stream of warm air. Gentle smoothing is moisture controlled and suitable for all textiles that can be safely dried in a tumble dryer Interior light The drum has an interior light on all models so you won’t overlook anything. This is activated via the on/off button. Stacking option* If it’s space you want to utilise more efficiently, Miele dryers will stack on top of our washing machines. That means you can install a washer and dryer almost anywhere. If side by side is a better arrangement, you can install them under worktops. * Model Depending 25
