18.20 Setting Channels to Always Have a Back - Ground<br />
Intensity - Preheat<br />
Some lamps with large filaments (such as aircraft landing lights) are slow to turn<br />
on. The turn on response of such lamps can be improved by maintaining a small<br />
voltage to them which warms the filament.<br />
18.21 To Set Channels to Preheat the Filament:<br />

Press the Setup button to open the Setup menu.<br />
Move the cursor to the UTIL (Utilities) field.<br />
Press the (On) button to open the Set Utilities menu.<br />
Move the cursor to the HEAT (Preheat) field.<br />
Press the (On) button to open the Setup Preheat menu.<br />
Move the cursor to the DIM# field.<br />
Set a start dimmer number.<br />
Move the cursor to the THRU (Through) field and set the end dimmer<br />
number.<br />
TIP:<br />
If you just want to set one dimmer, leave this field the same as the DIM# field.<br />

Move the cursor to the AT field.<br />
Set it in the range 1 - 10%.<br />
Repeat steps from 2 to 11 for any other dimmers or groups of dimmers.<br />
Press Exit to close this menu (press Exit twice to return to the standard<br />
screen).<br />
TIP: Setting preheat to 5% for example, will cause the dimmer to output about 10<br />
volts.<br />
Setting preheat to around 2% usually does not cause any visible glow.<br />
