Additional
information
Oxidation of lead tends to colour the surface. When brilliant liquid cools down, the following
colours show successively: yellow, brown, red, violet, blue, greenish, grey. The sooner these
colours appear, the higher the oxidation rate. Under influence of time and atmospheric
conditions, the grey may turn to white.
Precautions: Extreme exposure (inhaling or oral intake) to lead containing dust or smoke can
lead to different physical complaints. Good ventilation and other measures must be provided in
order to keep lead concentration in the air below the tolerated limits. Good personal hygiene is
strongly recommended.
