37.1 Floating blocks<br />
A block in CONT E XT is a text element, for example a table or a figure that you c<strong>an</strong> process in<br />
a special way. You have already seen the use of \placefigure <strong>an</strong>d \placetable. These<br />
are both examples of floating blocks. The floating mech<strong>an</strong>ism is described in chapter 10<br />
<strong>an</strong>d 11.<br />
You c<strong>an</strong> define these kind of blocks yourself with:<br />
\definefloat[.1.][.2.]<br />
The bracket pairs are used for the name in singular <strong>an</strong>d plural form. For example:<br />
