Processes for Informing <strong>Teacher</strong>s about the <strong>Teacher</strong> <strong>Evaluation</strong> <strong>System</strong><br />

All professional learning for teachers related to the <strong>Teacher</strong> <strong>Evaluation</strong> <strong>System</strong> include theory, system<br />

components, Florida’s Educator Accomplished Practices (FEAPs), observation processes, timelines, and<br />

rubrics, evaluation procedures, and student achievement indicators.<br />

Day 1 – Evaluator professional learning for principals and district administration<br />

<strong>District</strong> <strong>Teacher</strong> <strong>Evaluation</strong> cohort complete evaluator professional learning<br />

Day 1 – Evaluator professional learning for principals and district administration<br />

Offer web‐based professional learning modules for teachers on the new <strong>Teacher</strong><br />

<strong>Evaluation</strong> <strong>System</strong><br />

Create an FAQ Quick Reference Guide from questions and feedback received from<br />

teachers and administrators participating in the TES professional learning during the<br />

summer 2011<br />

Offer web‐based professional learning course for teachers on the TES<br />

<strong>Teacher</strong>s hired after August 16, 2011 must complete the new TES professional learning<br />

module within 10 days of hire<br />

Administrators hired after August 16, 2011 must begin the new TES professional<br />

learning module within their first week of placement<br />

Days (2 – 3) – Evaluator professional learning for administrators<br />

Day 4 (Quality Assurance Assessment) – Evaluator professional learning for<br />

administrators and district level supervisors<br />

Evaluators must be certified prior to beginning evaluative observations of teachers<br />

<strong>District</strong> <strong>Teacher</strong> <strong>Evaluation</strong> cohort complete evaluator Train‐the‐Trainer professional<br />

learning<br />

Day (1 – 4) – Evaluator professional learning for assistant principals conducted by<br />

district <strong>Teacher</strong> <strong>Evaluation</strong> cohort<br />

FAQ Quick Reference Guide will be posted on the Professional Development<br />

department's website.<br />

<strong>Teacher</strong>s and administrators will be able to repeat modules for knowledge and<br />

understanding.<br />

<strong>Teacher</strong>s may consult with administrators for clarification of questions and concerns<br />

not addressed in the professional learning or FAQ guide.<br />

Administrators will communicate teachers’ questions and concerns to the Professional<br />

Development department.<br />

To ensure inter‐rater reliability, each school year certified evaluators must re‐certify as<br />

evaluative observers prior to beginning observations of teachers and district<br />

supervisory staff will randomly survey and monitor school‐based administrators’<br />

completed teacher evaluation processes for quality and consistency.<br />
