In 1986, ACPO approved the founding of the National Association of Police
Fleet Managers which was formed from the Annual Police Fleet Engineers
Seminar. The NAPFM includes in its membership all UK police forces, some
overseas police forces, UK enforcement agencies, some UK emergency
services and government departments. The association is responsible for
producing national technical specifications for vehicles and accessories. In
conjunction with the Procurement Division of the National Policing
Improvement Agency (NPIA) the NAPFM produces national framework
agreements for the purchase of vehicles, equipment and services, achieving
annual savings of tens of millions of pounds. The latest framework
agreement for vehicles, announced in September 2010, has resulted in a
greater standardisation of vehicles within the Police Service.
The NAPFM Conference & Exhibition is organised by the Wiltshire Police on
behalf of the UK Police Service. The event is recognised as one of the best
emergency service transport shows in Europe. It attracts delegates and
visitors from all the emergency services, government departments as well as
overseas police forces.

Reducing road casualties is the TTC Group Mission Statement.
The award winning driver education organisation works in partnership with
both the Government and local police authorities to achieve that aim.
Delivering a million hours of training each year across the UK, TTC educates
thousands of drivers including those convicted of drink driving, motorists
caught speeding and driving carelessly. TTC piloted the first drink drive
