In 1986, ACPO approved the founding <strong>of</strong> the National Association <strong>of</strong> <strong>Police</strong><br />

Fleet Managers which was formed from the Annual <strong>Police</strong> Fleet Engineers<br />

Seminar. The NAPFM includes in its membership all UK police forces, some<br />

overseas police forces, UK enforcement agencies, some UK emergency<br />

services and government departments. The association is responsible for<br />

producing national technical specifications for vehicles and accessories. In<br />

conjunction with the Procurement Division <strong>of</strong> the National Policing<br />

Improvement Agency (NPIA) the NAPFM produces national framework<br />

agreements for the purchase <strong>of</strong> vehicles, equipment and services, achieving<br />

annual savings <strong>of</strong> tens <strong>of</strong> millions <strong>of</strong> pounds. The latest framework<br />

agreement for vehicles, announced in September 2010, has resulted in a<br />

greater standardisation <strong>of</strong> vehicles within the <strong>Police</strong> Service.<br />

The NAPFM Conference & Exhibition is organised by the Wiltshire <strong>Police</strong> on<br />

behalf <strong>of</strong> the UK <strong>Police</strong> Service. The event is recognised as one <strong>of</strong> the best<br />

emergency service transport shows in Europe. It attracts delegates and<br />

Reducing road casualties is the TTC Group Mission Statement.<br />

The award winning driver education organisation works in partnership with<br />

both the Government and local police authorities to achieve that aim.<br />
