Gosta Ernst Gustav Florman - Father <strong>of</strong> Nils Florman - (Translated from Swedish<br />

to English on Ancestry.com) - Gosta Ernst Gustav Florman became a sailor Sjokadett<br />

when 15 years old, did his first ocean expedition to North America and West Indian on<br />

the Balder 1873-1874. He did a few expedition on different vessels. Lieutenant in 1883.<br />

In the Mediterranean he was escorted <strong>of</strong> the fleet in 1881 he became arrested for assault<br />

and disobeying. Found guilty he got 20 days. Year 1882 he became knight <strong>of</strong><br />

Danneborgen. In 1887 discharged and left the ship roll in 1900. <strong>The</strong> story say that one<br />

day some ship from Horningsholm anchored to the fleet and the <strong>of</strong>ficers were invited to<br />

dinner, someone asked if the cadet Gosta Florman was invited too. And so he meet Ida<br />

Bonde. Gosta learned good behavior and manners. <strong>The</strong>y got married in 1885 in<br />

Horningsholm. Gosta went international 1885 to 1886. Everything was paid by the<br />

father in law. It wasn’t a happy marriage, Ida was frail and had a fragile health she spend<br />

lots <strong>of</strong> time in different farms <strong>of</strong> her family due to health and to get away from Gosta.<br />

Gosta had a bad temper and was very strict with the children.<br />
