While needing to recognize the passage of events
and daily attention-shifters, we get a bit lax about
re-offering that which is “old” but too timely to
ignore. We also understand that many of you are
quite tired of some of the reruns. However, when
the topics come to the surface and now that the very
items and people to which we have referred come to
the forefront and focus of that which is happening
to you currently, we would be too remiss in not
reminding you of your circumstance.
We know that you are weary of hearing about
Zionists and International Bankers—but people:
THIS IS YOUR LIFE! There are people preaching
Christianity and other doctrines who also claim
such hogwash as to offer that, for instance,
“Judeo-Christian” is some kind of “term”.
NO, IT IS A RELATIVELY “NEW” TERM AND
A FAR MORE DANGEROUS “CONCEPT”.
Moreover, the ones who conjure these ideas to
dump on you also push wars to accomplish change
and fulfill “prophecies” to the extent that you
become too confused to be able to long sort the
rubbish from the collectors’ items.
When the evangelists get up and denounce
one people and have other nations than their
own as the first to be advantaged—you have
bigotry in action. THINK ABOUT IT.

you, Earth upheavals are getting more and
more frequent and devastating and still you
want to argue over your opinion of what to

I must resubmit the material on “Scalar”
technology because there is a new plethora of
arguments AGAINST any validity to such “waves”
and actually with INCORRECT mathematical
overkill, it is stated there “IS NO SUCH THING”.
Yes there IS such a thing, by whatever name
you wish to call it—because to deny the
“longitudinal waves”, for instance, you deny that
there ARE such waves, pulses or frequencies. I
don’t care what you want to call them.
Yes, I know you would rather have my opinion
regarding the Moscow hostage circumstance but I
don’t need to make “revelations” on such a
happening. Nor do you need to know the “secret
gas” used. The point is that you had over 800
people in a place in which the hostage-takers stated
that they were starting to kill the hostages and

planned that if no demands were met, the entire
complex would be blown away with the hostages and
themselves (hostage-takers). WHAT WOULD YOU

lighter side of psychoenergetics. For example, what will
be the ultimate impact on the entertainment industry?)
Psychoenergetics will be able to bring about at last,
for better or for worse, Aldous Huxley’s fanciful idea in
his novel Brave New World, an entertainment format
which he called “The Feelies”. Those were something
you went to, like going to the movies, but you would
experience all the actual feelings themselves, as if the
depicted events were actually happening to you.
Although our “leaders” seem too dim to grasp what is
going on in the world of scalar electromagnetics, it
should not take some young Hollywood genius too long
to understand that The Feelies are now possible, and that
the immense megabucks of potential profit more than
justify heavy investment in bringing it to market.
One can imagine that first “Feelie” theater, “The Huxley”
perhaps, a large comfortable area surrounded by nine giant
screens (not just one!), which become 3-D if you put on
your headset. And The Huxley is fitted with the finest
sound, and oh, by the way, a modest-sized scalar
interferometer with computer. And there are one or more
new tracks now recorded on the film next to the sound
track. These are the digital patterns of thoughts, feelings
and ideas to be fed into the theater’s interferometer.
And these thoughts and feelings and ideas will be felt by
the audience as if they were their own thoughts and
ideas. It is an entirely new art form: Psychevision.
As important (and no doubt famous) as the actors
would be the “feelers”, those from whose minds the
feelings were lifted in the original programming of the Feelie
tracks. Because, for example, Brad Pitt might be a good
and handsome actor, but can he really feel it? Like the
dubbing of foreign language films, it might be necessary
to dub the “emotional track” using a deeper and more
profound person’s feelings, thoughts and ideas.
It might even be engineered so that if you sat on
one side of the theater you would feel like the hero,
and on the other side you would feel exactly like
the bad guy! What would that lead to?
We have all cried at a movie some time, most
people have, though they might not want to admit it.
But this would be deep sobbing and a flood of tears,
if the director so desired it. You would feel it at
your core. Or, take a big chase scene, you would
be terrified. They are breathing down your neck!
You would be gripped by panic.
For that matter, the whole genre of Horror-
Feelie would be too much for many people to take.
Do I really want to feel that an actual vampire is
tearing at my throat with his fangs?
A Religious Feelie would make you feel the exaltation
of a saint at his prayers, or give you the definite feeling
that you are Christ suffering on the cross. All the pain
could be there too. The stickiness of the blood. The
very feeling itself: “Why hast thou forsaken me?”
Who among us could come up that despair for
scanning? Had this been developed a hit earlier we
might watch a documentary of, say, Mother Theresa,
containing her own actual deep sense of compassion,
which we would feel arising in us as our own.
Then again, a Psychedelic Feelie could induce an
LSD-like state and simply blow the audience’s minds.
Even in its simplest most primitive mode, the
hyponogogic trance induction with its increased
suggestibility, would completely alter the experience
of even ordinary current movie-going.

The very thought of the building of one of these
howitzers—by “some lone-nut gunman” from Radio
Shack parts—makes one realize how serious it is for
humanity to face the crisis it has come to.
Once again, as at the dawn of the nuclear era,
humanity finds itself at the crossroads of Heaven and
Hell. As a species, we must stop and consider. And
there is at least one real difference between this visit to
the crossroads and the last: This time there is a very real
possibility of a true “earthly heaven” on the Heaven side.
The poor nations could come to a good life.
Disease could be largely eliminated. Fossil fuel pollution
could be managed in a humane way, bringing water where
there is drought, and sunny skies where there is flood.
Scalar interferometry would be there to avert any possible
hits by asteroids or comets. Mars could be colonized and
terraformed. Everyone would be highly educated through
psychoenergetic downloading of knowledge. And the
wisdom of the wise could be realized directly through
scalar connection to their minds and hearts.
These stunning sudden possibilities give me pause to
think: If our species has reached this crossroads in such
a short span of centuries, then surely other species in
the vast universe have passed this way before and long
ago. And of those who chose the path to “planetary
heaven”, what is their life like now? It might be good
if some of them were with us now, to guide us through
this last struggle over this pesky old good-and-evil
problem. [H: THEY “ARE”, AND CERTAINLY
THEY MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO AFFORD YOU
WHAT YOU NEED AND THAT, FRANKLY, WHICH
YOU ASK. YOU, HOWEVER, KILL THE
MESSENGER AND COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR
PLIGHT WHILE THE EVIL “ONE” SMILES AND
PATS YOU ON THE BACK FOR YOUR NON-
INTELLIGENT REACTIONS. NOBODY
ACTUALLY WISHES TO “DIE” BUT RATHER, TO
LIVE EXACTLY AS THE MIND PERCEIVES
WOULD BE A PERFECT WORLD AT YOUR OWN
DISPOSAL BUT WITHOUT ANY NEED FOR
EFFORT TO “MAKE IT SO”.] It is our last chance
to choose the path which benefits the whole species,
and not just some elite group or faction.

JUST LOOK AGAIN AT THAT SENTENCE: “It
is our last chance to choose the path which benefits
the whole species, and not just some elite group or
faction.” Ah so—and what does the author of this
document do? He won’t, probably, ever be exposed
to THIS possibility. Oh yes indeed, the fakes are
a dime a dozen and beat their chests on every street
corner while pointing out there somewhere.
YOU have to DO something if you would
change “the whole species”.
If you support us sufficiently to get this portion
going/rolling—then the PLAN can and shall work
its miracles—but WHO believes that “this” is it?
I thought not. So, we work ever onward while you
are told by more “popular” speakers and
soothsayers that magic will hit through some
dingbat idea about “Dove of Oneness” or worse.
But how can you know? Well, you start with
that which has fundamentally REASONABLE
AND LOGICAL structure. It is neither
reasonable nor logical that some Elite banking
system is going to surrender and hand over
the loot they have already stolen and then
“LOST”, both from books and accountability.
“Don’t you play the same game?” go the
questions. NO! We have legally proven
documentation and legal courses of action which
present physical backup for everything we do from
validity of agreements, documentation AND a way to
back up the entire process with physical commodity
which has somehow “disappeared” as if by magic.
It doesn’t, however, MATTER because “they” have
to bring back what they have stolen and thus the
commodity remains valid even if “displaced”.
In the case of the NESARA, for instance, you
have nothing basing a repayment. The funds stolen
had no basis of value and NEITHER DOES THAT
WHICH IS DEMANDED AS “PAYBACK”.
YOU CANNOT HAVE IT “ALL WAYS”, MY
FICKLE FRIENDS OF THE SUMMER WINDS.
DO I JUST CONTINUE TO PLEAD OUR CASE?
NO, FOR I DON’T WANT THE SNEAKY
LEECHES BACK ON OUR BODIES SUCKING
OUR BLOOD FOR THEIR TRANSFUSIONS.
LAST CHANCE? FOR WHAT? WHAT
EXACTLY IS IT THAT “YOU WANT”?
Will “scalar” anything change your lives? No,
this particular energy already “IS”. We note a
return to focus on a project years and years ago in
detonation of a “bomb” fueled by deuterium.

thereof and therefore are as evil or goodly as
the “handlers” decide it shall be.]

One person working tirelessly to bring these
technologies into the open is Dr. Stephen Greer of
the Disclosure Project, which is calling for
congressional hearings into the issues of UFOs and
the free-energy technology that was, perhaps in
part, reverse-engineered from them.
“Once abundant and nearly-free, energy is available
in impoverished areas for agriculture, transportation,
construction, manufacturing and electrification, there is
no limit to what humanity can achieve. It is
ridiculous—obscene even—that mind-boggling poverty
and famine exists in the world while we sit on classified
technologies that could completely reverse this situation.
“So why not release these technologies? Because
the social, economic and geopolitical order of the
world would be greatly altered. Every deep insider
with whom I have met has emphasized that this
would be the greatest change in known human
history. The matter is so highly classified not because
it is so silly, but because its implications are so
profound and far reaching. By nature, those who
control such projects do not like change. And here
we are talking about the biggest economic,
technological, social and geopolitical change in known
human history. Hence, the status quo is maintained,
even as our civilization hurtles towards oblivion....
“With the types of weapons currently in the covert
arsenal—weapons more fearsome even than
thermonuclear devices—there is no possibility of a
survivable conflict. Yet in the darkness of secrecy,
actions have been taken on behalf of every human
that may endanger our future. Only a full, honest
disclosure will correct this situation. It is not possible
for me to convey in words the urgency of this.”

Greer and his team have assembled hundreds of
witnesses, many of whom are military or ex-military,
who are ready to testify to congressional hearings
what they know about the covert black projects
which have kept free-energy and antigravity
propulsion technology secret from the people.
Greer points out the need to regulate these
technologies so they are limited to peaceful uses, but
this is of course difficult when the government simply
chooses to pretend they do not exist. In the meantime,
as the President and the Defense Department continue
the charade of war-as-usual, those scalar (longitudinal
wave) installations which DO exist continue to fall into
ever more sinister hands. And there is no reporter in the
press brave enough to ask, “Mr. Secretary of Defense,
what steps are you taking to defend our MINDS from
attack by the big Russian longitudinal interferometers?”
[H: And THAT is the very point we must
face, for even the question is incorrect?
Russia is your enemy? Where have you been
sleeping, little sheep?]
LONGITUDINAL INTERFEROMETERS
ARE PROLIFERATING
In a later statement Bearden reveals that in fact
the YAKUZA (Japanese mafia) has already leased
some of the interferometers with a nearly $1
billion “down payment”:
“After the collapse of the Soviet Union’s
economy, lots of things got available for lease or
purchase that would never have been under the old
system. That happened in the resulting economic
chaos. The Russian Mafia rose to prominence, as
did some wheeling and dealing entrepreneurs who
played both ends against the middle.
“In that atmosphere, and in the need for money, the
KGB allowed leasing of the earlier longitudinal EM wave
interferometers to a consortium of the Yakuza and Aum
Shinriko. They did this only after they had tested and
deployed their great new quantum potential weapons.
That class of weapon is the dominant weapon on Earth.
Five nations now have it: Brazil, Russia (KGB),
China, and two nations friendly to the U.S. The deal
to lease many of the earlier LWIs (longitudinal wave
interferometers) to the Japanese Yakuza and Aum
Shinrikyo was consummated at the end of 1989, with
a down payment of $900 million in gold bullion as
“up front” money. I don’t know what the lease per
year was and is, but probably something like a billion
dollars a year. So the rogue Japanese acquired
longitudinal EM weapons and that technical knowhow.
In fact, the Yakuza is producing certain kinds
of those in its own facilities in Japan now.”
Personally, I am a little uncomfortable with the
knowledge that the Japanese mafia may now be
able to insert things into my mind. I’d like to
sleep at night knowing that my dreams are my
own, such as they may be, and not some weird
fantastic visions cooked up by a criminal
organization. This is a WORLD emergency.
And in Bearden’s analysis, it all comes back to the
issue of energy. It is the energy crisis which is now
provoking the current “oil wars”, since oil production has
hit the “Hubbard Peak” and will decline. And the
electrical power grids must be replaced with scalar
power as fast as possible, for these grids are now totally
vulnerable to any possessor of longitudinal
interferometers. They can all be wiped out in minutes,
by anyone who possesses or controls a Tesla howitzer.
“Anyway, in my personal view, we should have
a national Manhattan Project right now, to develop
decentralized electrical power systems taking their
energy from the vacuum… The MEG is real and so
are several other systems invented by private
investors and colleagues. All these efforts should be
massively funded and massively and quickly developed.
The survival of this nation is going to depend
upon it. … There are many other facets, but the
major point is that our scientific apparatus and the
public are still unaware of what a desperate struggle
we have entered, since it was thrust upon us,
9-11 was a wake-up call. It was certainly bad enough,
and one grieves for those lost American lives. But I fear
the worst is yet to come, and it is coming at us like a
runaway train hurtling right down the track at us.
“The electromagnetic weapons mentioned by the
Secretary of Defense in April 1997 are in terrorists
hands also. That rogue group leased those earlier
weapons on site in Russia, from the KGB, at the end
of 1989. The SecDef stated that such weapons were
being used to initiate earthquakes, initiate volcanoes
into eruption, and control and engineer the weather.
Quite true. And presently there is a truly massive set
of weather engineering operations going on over
North America, from that rogue Japanese group
manning the weapons in Russia. [H: Stop it, for
that is pure hogwash!] Some ten nations of the
world now have the type of longitudinal EM wave
interferometer weapons (which are what the SecDef
was most probably referring to). There are other even
more fearsome weapons, possessed by five nations.
So a great deal of the state of the world is not
covered in the news at all, and will not be…
“We have been in an undeclared war of an eerie kind
for some decades. That war seems now to have started
to heat up also. The destructive capability of some of
these weapons is awesome, and far greater than nuclear.
“In that sense, the first phase of WW III is already
completed. Now we are only waiting for Phase II.
“It is against that backdrop that I think one must
‘analyze’ such things as how fast we will be replacing
the power grid (it’s going to go anyway, and
catastrophically, the terrorists will see to that). And
everything we have is critically dependent upon energy,
from the economy to jobs, to mobility, to the millions of
trucks that transport our goods every day, etc.
“As far as I am concerned, we are already late
in declaring a great national emergency in energy,
because of the coming destruction of the present
energy infrastructure. The scientific community
should lead, follow, or get out of the way. The
emergency is not in seeking ‘alternative but
conventional’ systems. It is in developing ‘energy
from the vacuum’ on an emergency, crash basis.
“Unfortunately, everywhere I look I just see
business as usual. Most Americans (and news media)
seem to think, hey, Afghanistan is finished except for
a bit of cleanup, and it’s just about over.
“It isn’t. It has only just begun.”—Bearden
BEYOND THE HOWITZERS:
QUANTUM POTENTIAL WEAPONS
DO NOT USE EM PROPAGATION THROUGH SPACE
As more and more nations acquire the scalar
interferometers, Bearden speculates on the next
generation of longitudinal weapons called “quantum
potential” (QP) weapons.
“The quantum potential weapons are
presently only held by three nations: Russia (in the
hands of the KGB, which is now known by its
new name), Brazil, and the ‘friendly little nation’
Red China may be working on them, but is just at
the beginning. [H: Oh doesn’t he wish!]
“The QP weapons have been highly reserved
by the Russians. However, the complete extent of
their capabilities is still being figured out…
“The quantum potential weaponry (possessed by
only three nations) is supreme, because it uses
multiple connected spacetime, and DOES NOT involve
propagation of EM energy through space as does
the longitudinal EM wave interferometers.
“The operational deployment of full-scale
strategic QP weapons on site in Russia occurred at
the end of 1989, which is when the formal weapons
first went operational. These weapons are not in the
inventory of the regular Russian armed forces, but all
research and development, manufacturing
deployment, and manning and employment is under
the ruthless control of the KGB. Shortly thereafter
(within weeks), the KGB leased many of their
earlier longitudinal EM wave interferometer (LWI)
weapons to a rogue Japanese group comprised of
the Aum Shinrikyo and Yakuza.”—Bearden
In another paper, “Time Polarization—Significance
and Weaponization”, Bearden tells the story of how a
KGB longitudinal wave attack was averted by the
longitudinal weapons of a “friendly small nation”.
So as it stands, it is precarious. Not until the people
demand an end of what author Jim Marrs has dubbed the
“RULE BY SECRECY”, can the people’s representatives
tackle the big problems of a worldwide ban on Scalar Wars
and the shifting over to an essentially oil-free economy.

The whole situation is changing so fast that when I
asked Tom to look over this article he mentioned the
seeming contradiction when some of the above statements
are taken together. At different times the information he
has is updated so one has to keep a kind of running track.
He was kind enough to clear up the confusion here
with the situation as it stands as of March 2002.
“We knew of three nations having the QP weapons
for some time. Then we found out last year that five
nations had it. So that explains my using the figure
“three” first (which represented what I knew at the
time). Later I found out about the other two nations.
China, e.g., only deployed its QP weapon this past year.
So that explains the apparent contradiction between me
using “five” in later papers and “three” in earlier ones.
It was the best information I had at that time.
Might I mention that so the reader will understand
the apparent discrepancy.”—Tom Bearden
[H: And might I please amend this to read—
“already outdated”. We CANNOT, however, keep
repeating and repeating ad nauseam because we will
never be able to move forward if we keep having to
go back and “catch up” or “change & update” every
statement we, or anyone else makes. We too wish it
would be different but we are stuck dealing with “what
is”. WE WROTE ABOUT ALL OF THIS IN
INCREDIBLE DETAIL IN 1989, SO WE WILL NOT

HUMANLY POSSIBLE. AND YES INDEED, IT HAS
TAKEN AS LONG AS IT HAS TO ACCOMPLISH THIS
GOAL—BUT YES INDEED, WE ARE MAKING IT
WORK AND IT IS FOUND THAT EVERY
EXPERIENCE, EVERY LESSON AND EVERY
DISAPPOINTMENT WAS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!]

AFTERWORD
Because of the extreme seriousness of the topics brought
forward in this article, I asked Tom Bearden to look it over
to make sure I had not gotten anything too terribly wrong or
mixed up. I did not want to pass on any misunderstanding
of my own. I felt a little nervous writing to an eminent
scientist, and hoped I had not presumed upon his time.
But Tom was so kind as to answer immediately,
and to my relief I had not gotten anything too terribly
wrong. Here is his letter, in which he clears up a
misunderstanding, and reports on his current health
treatment, and gives a call to the young grad students
to turn themselves loose in the whole new field of
scalar electromagnetics and free energy.
SUBJECT: RE: Article on Tom Bearden and
“Scalar Wars”

Well, I must say I’m astounded at your

Couple tiny things: In the area mentioning Kervran
and Kaznacheyev: Kervran was French; Kaznacheyev
was and is Russian. Little typo of “spredding”

We knew of three nations having the QP
weapons for some time. Then we found out last
year that five nations had it. So that explains my
using the figure “three” first (which represented what
I knew at the time). Later I found out about the
other two nations, China, e.g., only deployed its QP
weapon this past year. So that explains the apparent
contradiction between me using “five” in later papers
and “three” in earlier ones. It was the best
information I had at that time. Might mention that so
the reader will understand the apparent discrepancy.
Otherwise, it’s pretty accurate.
Just now I’m letting the weapons take care of
themselves; have to, as I will be recovering now for
nearly a year from the heart attack last year and
discovering that I had contracted mycoplasia (the BW
modified kind) in Canada in 1968. Finally got a test
which confirmed the chronic mycoplasia (which I had
for 33 years!). The stuff burrows inside one’s red
corpuscles, then draws nutrients from the hemoglobin,
hardening it and reducing its ability to take on oxygen
(by as much as 50% or more). The resulting symptom
is loss of endurance (which I had for that 33 years)—
the so-called “chronic fatigue syndrome”.
Many of the Gulf War veterans who are sick also
have it, though they apparently have other complicating
factors as well. A very high percentage of persons
with chronic fatigue syndrome also have mycoplasia.
The treatment for the long-standing mycoplasma
infection of that nature is to stay on antibiotics for
a year. The only time the mycoplasma is vulnerable is
when one wears out a red cell in normal usage, and the
body makes a new red cell to replace it. The
mycoplasma comes out of the dying cell to infect the
new replacement cell, so it is exposed and vulnerable at
that specific time and that time only. The antibiotics kills
it at that time. Hence the necessity to stay on antibiotics
for such a long time so it is continuously in your
bloodstream (I’ve already been on antibiotics for over
two months, and have at least 10 more months to go).
We also take a little medical oxygen every day.
Another symptom of the mycoplasma infection is
the association of runaway fibrillation of the heart. To
stop that, there are pills one takes, and they stop it. But
they also further reduce the volume of blood pumped by
the heart, so that this projects one right back into the
hypoxia, dizzy, loss of balance, etc., catch-22 situation;
the fibrillation will build and cause heart attack, stroke,
etc., if not stopped, and if stopped it puts you back in
the hypoxia which can cause many things! With the
conventional treatment, you’re damned if you do and
damned if you don’t. Hence the need for a little extra
medical oxygen, so you can take the “heart clamp” pill
and stop the fibrillation, but also augment the oxygen
enough to continue to survive without a stroke or some
such. Interestingly, it’s very difficult to even obtain a
mycoplasma test, and Medicare fights you tooth-and-nail
over paying for the oxygen. Either they will pay for it
or I’ll pay for it myself; it is absolutely necessary.
After a heart attack, one is treated in the heart clinic
by specialists who are very caring and excellent
practitioners, but know nothing of mycoplasma infection,
so do not even consider it a part of “heart disease”, and
who are rather puzzled when one has no clogging of the
arteries, has the right count of red corpuscles (largely
nonfunctional, of course, but there), pumps the right
amount of blood, etc. So they identify and treat only
the runaway fibrillation, do not prescribe the oxygen—
and essentially place you on a regime as best they know,
but one that is guaranteed to kill or maim you or turn
you into a totally disabled person or human vegetable
via stroke, paralysis, etc. Fortunately my family
doctor will prescribe the oxygen anyway, though I
may have to pay for it myself. Whatever works!
However, I’m slowly improving little by little,
working as much as I’m able to and trying to finish my
book: Energy from the Vacuum: Concepts and
Principles, and get it to the publisher for publication
later this year. Hopefully the book will turn all the
interested young grad students and post-docs loose in
the free-energy area. They will not have to spend 30
agonizing years to get to where I am, and where a few
others are, but can simply start here and go forward.
Since speed to develop energy from the vacuum is of
the essence because of the world situation, I’m
moving on it as fast as I am physically able to.
Meanwhile, working with the AIAS (Alpha
Foundation’s Institute for Advanced Study)—the AIAS
(15 authors) has now gotten about 20 scientific papers
published in leading journals (Foundations of Physics,
Foundations of Physics Letters, Physical Scripta, Optik,
etc.) dealing with electromagnetic energy from the
vacuum. Several more are either approved for
publication or in the review process also. So slowly we
are getting it into the mainstream scientific literature.
Hopefully it will be in time, but it’s cutting it close.

To be honest, I speculated that something would
happen against the Australians after our PM broke the

far beyond ANY international codes of behavior. As a
result, we lost a one-billion-dollar wheat deal with Iraq,
while our ‘friends’ the Americans are increasing their
taxes on Australian farm products!!! Outrageous? NO,

One honest Congressman admitted last week that his
phone calls are 99 to one AGAINST Bush’s war.
4. The ‘news media’ NEVER tell the public that the
Intelligence agencies are usually at the core of the
problem—as these agencies are the ones which invent
such trickery as ‘The Gulf of Tonkin’ and the vile
‘Operation Northwoods’. These treasonous acts and
many others like them are done at the behest of the
NWO-Zionist-Banker-Transnational cartels.
5. Spending tremendous time on search engines,
I can sense that the Mossad is spending a LOT of
effort to remove much data about the Mossad from
search engines and the Internet in general.
6. The Mossad is reading every single e-mail
around the world, including this one, and they can
manipulate politicians and journalists to their best
advantage with ease. While many joke that Bush’s
speeches seem to be written by Sharon and the
Mossad, I am not sure that it is not actually a reality in
some cases. Just look at who his closest advisors are.
7. The NSA refused to release the satellite
photos of Manhattan during 9/11. If they would,
I am confident we could see the dancing Israelis
on the top of the Manhattan roof.
8. There are rampant accusations over the Internet
that the Maryland Shooter could be only a CIA or
Mossad-trained, since he is so professional. AGAIN,
the NSA was requested to release satellite videos of
Washington, D.C. area, and they refused. It is no
secret that the NSA is monitoring that area by satellites
and reviews of the tapes could show the ‘White Van’
and its destinations. If the NSA could read a coin on
the ground from a satellite, as they boasted, they
should be able to identify the White Van, too.
7. In short, events will only escalate downhill for
as long as we let the fox guard the chickens.

BECAUSE IT’S NOT HOW YOU THINK IT IS!
Why do I implore you to look at the ugly instead of
what the New Age Movement would have you look?
Because they pronounce falseness unto you and if
the vision is incorrect or there is no vision in truth,
man shall perish. No more and no less. You must
awaken unto the truth of your existence and know
the players in the game of control and you must do
so before it becomes too late to longer matter.
KHAZARS
Prior to unfolding more of the story as pertains to
Israel and the Zionists, you must realize that I am
speaking not of the beloved Jewish “people” of your
world, any more than I would have you believe all
Catholic priests and nuns practice (or even know of) the
activities within the walls of a cloistered convent. For
instance, we have one with us who served as a Catholic
priest for more than thirty years with a parish of some

witnessing in full flower the ongoing and climaxing of a
war of more than a millennium between the two most
bitter enemies on Earth. It is the war between Russia and
the Khazars. And, dear ones, how many of you have even
the vaguest notion of who or what are Khazars?
The kingdom of the Khazars vanished from the map
of the world many centuries ago, but their impact is
greater this day than in any prior time segment. Today
most people have never even heard of them or their
lands, so you need not bow your head in embarrassment.
If you do not continue and then follow up with a bit of
research to prove my words unto self—then bow your
head in embarrassment before God who would delight
in seeing you of his creations come into truth.
In its day the Khazar Kingdom was a very major
power indeed, holding sway over a large empire of
subjugated peoples. It had to be reckoned with by the
two neighboring superpowers of that day. To the south
and west of Khazaria, the Byzantine Empire was in full
flower with its Eastern Orthodox Christian civilization.
To the southeast, the Khazar Kingdom bordered on the
expanding Moslem Empire of the Arab Caliphs.
The Khazars influenced the histories of both of these
other empires but, far more importantly, the Khazar
Kingdom occupied what was later to become a southern
portion of Russia between the Black and Caspian Seas.
As a result, the historical destinies of the Russians
and the Khazars became intertwined in ways
which have persisted down to the present day.
I suggest that if you have trouble with this
information and also in locating information regarding
these people, you should get a book by a British writer/
historian about the Khazars: THE 13TH TRIBE—THE
KHAZAR EMPIRE AND ITS HERITAGE by Arthur
Koestler. No, Dharma, do not get it, for I shall give you
all you need know about it. But for others, let me see—
yes, Random House, New York should be a source.
The Khazars were derived from a mixture of Finns,
Turks and Mongols (this latter is important when
considering the projections of one, Nostradamus, as to
the anti-Christ). As early as the Third Century AD, they
were identifiable in constant warfare in the areas of
Persia and Armenia. Later, in the 5th Century, the
Khazars were among the devastating hordes of Attila,
the Hun. Around 550 AD, the nomadic Khazars began
settling themselves in the area around the northern
Caucasus between the Black and Caspian Seas.
The Khazar capital of Itil was established at the mouth
of the Volga River, where it emptied into the Caspian,
in order to control the river traffic. The Khazars then
extracted a toll of 10% on any and all cargo which
passed Itil on the River. Ah yes, taxways all the way
to the 5th Century. Anyone who refused to pay the
tax (toll) was immediately attacked and slaughtered—
not greatly different from today.
With their kingdom firmly established in the
Caucasus, the Khazars gradually began to create an
empire of subjugated peoples. Other tribes, who were
comparatively peaceful, were promptly attacked and
conquered. They then became attached as portions of
the Khazar Empire, required to pay tribute continually to
the Khazar Kingdom and to the Khazar coffers.
This is not different in concept, for all conquered
peoples have had to give tribute to the conquering
Empire, but I assure you, not in the manner of the
Khazars. The so-called great empires of the world
always gave something in return for the tribute they
extracted. Rome, for example, made citizens of
those they conquered, and in return for the taxes they
levied, they brought civilization, order and protection
against attack from would-be invaders.
Not so in the Khazar Empire. The peoples who
were subject to the Khazars received only one thing in
return for their payments of tribute, and that was only
one thin and shaky promise that the Khazars would
refrain from further attacks and pillage—so long as the
tributes were paid. The subjects of the Khazar Empire,
therefore, were simply nothing more than victims of a giant
Mafia-type protection racket. The Khazar overlords were
therefore resented universally and bitterly throughout their
domain, but they were also feared because of the merciless
way in which they dealt with anyone who stood up to
them. And so the Khazar Empire expanded until it
occupied large areas of what is now Russia and southeastern
Europe. By the Eighth Century, the Khazar Empire
extended northward to Kiev and westward to include the
Magyars, the ancestors of modern Hungary.
Then a stunning event took place in the mid-700s
AD. The Khazars had been under continual pressure
from their Byzantine and Moslem neighbors to adopt
either Christianity or Islam; but the Khazar ruler, called
the Khakan, had heard of a third religion called Judaism.
Apparently for political reasons of independence,
the Khakan announced that the Khazars were
adopting Judaism as their authorized religion.
Overnight an entirely new group of people, the
warlike Khazars, suddenly proclaimed themselves to be
Jews—adoptive Jews—and formed their tribe straight
away. The Khazar Kingdom began to be described as
the “Kingdom of the Jews” by historians of the day.
Succeeding Khazar rulers took Jewish names, and
during the late Ninth Century the Khazar Kingdom
became a haven for Jews from other lands.
Meanwhile, the brutal Khazar domination over other
peoples continued quite unchanged. But then a new
factor appeared on the scene. During the 8th Century
they came coursing down the great rivers, the Dnieper,
the Don, the Volga. They were the eastern branch of
the Vikings—ouch! They were known as the
Varangians, or as the Rus. Like other Vikings, the Rus
were bold adventurers and fierce fighters but, when they
tangled with the Khazars, the Rus often ended up paying
tribute like everyone else. When two titans meet, it is
always interesting, for the probabilities change moment
by moment. Now, isn’t all this history fascinating?
You started your journey of hate and confrontation and
enslavement so far back it, too, is forgotten.
About 862 a Rus leader name Rurik founded the
city of Novgorod, and the Russian Nation was born.
The Rus Vikings settled among the Slavonic tribes
under Khazar domination, and the struggle between
Vikings and Khazars changed in character. It then
became a struggle by the emerging nation of Russia
for independence from Khazar oppression.
Over a century after the founding of Russia’s first
city, another momentous event took place. Russia’s leader,
Price Vladimir of Kiev, accepted baptism as a Christian in
the year 989 and a big to-do was made of it, of course.
He then actively promoted Christianity in Russia, and his
memory is revered by Russians today as “Saint
Vladimir”—and so, over a thousand years ago, Russia’s
tradition as a Christian nation began. How many of you
know this? How many of you children realize that Russia
is a Christian nation? You all teach and proffer that the
Russians are atheistic—those are the Soviets, my friends,
who are preaching the no-God theories.
Vladimir’s conversion also brought Russia into
alliance with Byzantium. The Byzantine rulers had
always feared the Khazars, and the Russians were still
struggling to free themselves. And so, in the year 1016,
combined Russian and Byzantine forces attacked the
Khazar Kingdom. The Khazar Empire was shattered,
and the kingdom of the Khazars itself fell into decline.
Eventually most of the Khazar Jews migrated to other
areas. Many of them wound up in Eastern Europe,
where they mingled and intermarried with other Jews.
Like the Semitic Jews some 1000 years earlier, the
Khazar Jews became dispersed. The kingdom of
the Khazars was no more.
As they moved and lived among the Jewish people,
the Khazar Jews passed on a distinct heritage in a
militant form—known as ZIONISM! You thought I
wasn’t going to get there, didn’t you? This was passed
on from generation to generation and became more and
more militant and reached out in every direction in its
efforts to consume and control. This particular group
all but consumed Germany in the early third of this
century of your counting. In the view of Khazar Jews,
the land occupied by ancient Israel is to be retaken—not
by miracle but by armed force. This is what is meant
by “Zionism” today—and this is the force that created
the nation which today calls itself Israel.
The other major ingredient of the Khazar Jew
heritage is total hatred for Christianity, and for the
Russian people as the champions of the Christian faith.
Christianity is viewed as the force which caused the
ancient so-called Kingdom of the Jews, the Khazar
Kingdom, to collapse. Having once dominated much of
what is present-day Russia, the Khazar Jews still want
to reestablish that domination—and for a millennium they
have been trying continually to do just that.
In 1917 the Khazar Jews passed a major milestone
toward the creation of their own state in Palestine. That
same year they also created the Bolshevik Revolution in
Russia—financed by some very familiar foundations out
of America. Be patient and you shall begin to see the
linkage of the secret societies and moneychangers.

There, of course, followed a Christian Holocaust, the
likes of which the world has never seen. The Khazar
Jews were once again in control of Russia after more
than 900 years, and they set about the task of destroying
Christianity by destroying Christians—over 100,000,000
of them (almost makes the projections from Germany
look feeble, does it not?). Worse, and in addition,
Godly Jews everywhere take note; at the same time over
20,000,000 religious Jews also died at the hands of their
own proclaimed people, the Khazar Jews.
This is what, my friends, the Russian Christians
were up against in their half-century-plus struggle to
overthrow the atheistic Bolsheviks, but they finally
succeeded in their overthrow program, and now the
1000-year-old war between the Russian Christians and
Khazar Zionist Jews is reaching a climax. The majority
of those displaced Bolsheviks relocated immediately to
America. At stake is not only the future of Russia, and
of Christianity, albeit it totally corrupted in any event, but
also of the Jewish people as a whole—and the Jewish
people as a whole haven’t the vaguest idea that this is
happening to them. They follow along thinking that
someday soon they will have their nation back—oh no,
you Godly Jews of the tribes of Abraham will be
sacrificed as never seen before upon your placement.
It will be the Jews who will pay the ultimate price
at the hands of the Zionists—and they will kill
you while you stand in protection of them.
There was a leader of the Jewish people that we
would give tribute now; Rabbi Joel Teitelbaum, who died
in New York in 1979. Interestingly enough—he died in
the morning, and was buried the same afternoon.
Yet, over 100,000 Jewish men arrived in time for the
funeral. It is hard to imagine how many more would
have come if time had been longer. The services
were pushed ahead to prevent the crowds and the
investigation into the cause of death.
A tribute was later given in the New York Times and
clearly it spoke for myriads of Jewish people. Among
the words within the tribute was a phrase I would share;
“He was the undisputed leader of all Jews everywhere
who had not been infected by Zionism”; and also, quote,
“With a courage all too rare in our time, he called the
Zionist state a work of Satan, a sacrilege, and a
blasphemy.” The shedding of blood for the sake of the
Zionist state was abhorrent to him. He was also
removed, for he was a troublemaker and troublemakers
and bringers of truth are “taken out”. Hence my
scribe’s nervous indigestion. Well, God wants no more
martyrs—the time for the impact of martyrs is
finished—God wants alert, thinking and “living” people.
That tribute, however, was given and the words
were spoken by Orthodox Jews mourning for their fallen
leader. And the new Christian rulers of Russia would
agree, for they, too, regard the Zionist state of Israel as
a counterfeit, a cruel and dangerous hoax for Christian
and Jew alike. The Khazar state, called the “Kingdom
of the Jews” over a thousand years ago, was a total,
deadly parasite, living on the tribute from conquered
peoples. Likewise today, Israel depends for its
survival on a never-ending flow of support from
outside. Guess where almost all of it comes from!
Left unchecked, the Russians believe that the Khazar
Jews will destroy Christianity by means of Zionism,
and Russia through Bolshevism; so Russia’s Christian
rulers are on the offensive against their enemies of
over a thousand years—the Zionist Khazars.

saving your own country, or to defend your faith—

back into the Christness. So now your land has
become the battleground of the Christian Russians and

“A supply of Uzi machine guns and other weapons,
approved by the Israeli government last year for
shipment to the eastern Caribbean island of Antigua,
wound up instead in the hands of one of Colombia’s

weapons and hundreds of thousands of rounds of
ammunition when they searched the ranch of Jose

the ruling family of Antigua and posed a sensitive

On the ruins of natural and hereditary aristocracy
we built an aristrocracy of our intellectual class—
THE MONEY ARISTOCRACY. We have established
this new aristocracy on the qualification of wealth,
which is dependent upon us, and also upon science,
which is promoted by our wise men.

chords of the human mind, namely, GREED, AND THE
INSATIABLE SELFISH DESIRES OF MAN.
The fact that the representatives of the nation can
be deposed, delivers them into our power and
practically places their appointment in our hands.
PROTOCOL NO. II
It is necessary for us that wars, whenever possible,
should bring no territorial advantages; this will SHIFT
WAR TO AN ECONOMIC BASIS and force nations to
realize the strength of our predominance; such a situation
will put both sides at the mercy of our million-eyed
international agency, which will be unhampered by any
frontiers. THEN OUR INTERNATIONAL RIGHTS
WILL DO AWAY WITH NATIONAL RIGHTS.
The Administrators chosen by us from among the
people in accordance with their capacity for servility will
not be experienced in the art of government, and
consequently THEY WILL EASILY BECOME PAWNS
IN OUR GAME, in the hands of our scientists and wise
counselors, specialists trained from early childhood for
governing the world. … The Goys are not guided by
the practice of impartial historical observation…
Therefore, we need give them no consideration. Until
the time comes LET THEM AMUSE THEMSELVES, OR
LIVE IN THE HOPE OF NEW AMUSEMENTS OR IN
THE MEMORIES OF THOSE PAST. … Intelligent
Goys will boast of their knowledge, and verifying it
logically, they will put into practice all scientific
information compiled by our agents for the purpose of

Do not think that our assertions are without
foundation: The successes of Darwinism, Marxism
and Nietzscheism were engineered by us. The
demoralizing effects of these doctrines upon the

states will be closed in it as in strong claws.
To induce all lovers of authority to abuse their power,

feel a hatred towards all classes whom they
consider superior to themselves since they do not
understand the importance of each caste.
This hatred will be still more ACCENTUATED BY
THE ECONOMIC CRISIS, which will stop financial
transactions and all industrial life. Having organized a
general economic crisis by all possible underhand
means—and with the help of gold which is all in our
hands—we will throw great crowds of workmen into the
street, simultaneously, in all countries in Europe.

culprits, they would quickly be denounced as usual!
No, the group will find foundation stones for the “new
temple” and exclusion of the Palestinian worshippers
from their Holy places—through intensified force!
Some of the “natural” incidents you are undergoing
in America is to bring the Bush administration under
control in an all-out effort to bring the Israelis
under control—for if this is not done within mere
days, that massive war will be underway!
RELIGIOUS AND HISTORICAL MYTHS
Americans today are confused by various
religious and historical myths that surround the
question of the formation and destiny of the socalled
“republic” of Israel. Uninformed so-called
“Christians” believe that Zionism is a “religious”
movement, instead of a political one.
The gravest confusion exists in the realm of the
political, however. The philosophy of internationalism,
which has been assiduously inculcated into the minds
of two generations of Americans by a veritable army
of well-financed brainwashers who aim to bring
about a world of perpetual peace through perpetual
war, has unfortunately been abosrbed even by
millions of Americans who consider themselves
patriots—this certainly includes Jewish persons,
perhaps to an even greater extent than others.
Most Americans seem subconsciously to believe that
ANY FIGHT ANYWHERE in the world between two
groups justifies your nation’s immediate intervention, the
appropriation of millions or billions of dollars and the
raising of an army to bring “peace” to the afflicted area.
Only a very tiny few Americans ever stop to think
that there are at least three sides to any quarrel of
foreigners—there is one side to each of the antagonists
and also the American side. And contrary to the naive
and childish internationalist idea that wars are fought
between the “good” and the “evil”, as Spinoza once
said, they are fought between two “right” sides.
The question that America should answer when
viewing the differences of others is not “Which side
is right?” and “Which side should America take?”
but “What are the interests of America?!”
As simple and as self-evident as this is, the
thought is totally alien to most Americans—and
particularly to your political leaders.
I will briefly herein touch on a few points
which shall be enlarged upon in a future
presentation allowing more space for publication.
Could you, for a minute, forget everything
except being “American”? If you are of another
country—pretend for this moment that you are
American. Consider the Mideast problem from an
unabashedly America-First standpoint, as peculiar
and unpopular as such a position may be with the
false patriots and the corrupt who deliberately
strive to use the power of the American people for
alien ends and their own personal profit.
The question you must attempt to answer is not,
“Are the Jews or the Arabs (in this instance, Iraq)
right?” but rather, “What is to America’s best interest?”
Now you must also realize that oil, to the citizen of the
U.S., is not short of supply nor should there be
outrageous prices, for you have abundant supplies of oil
both stored and unproduced domestically.
Readers will note that the above means what it
says, as the writer herein does not mistake the interests
of say, Standard Oil, for the national interest of
America, and consider that anyone who would
contemplate war for the purpose of protecting the profits
of a few stateless international financiers and
stockholders is unworthy of serious refutation.
Although the judgments in this instance appear to
be harsher against Israel and international Zionism
than against the Iraqis, the reader is respectfully
reminded that if he wishes to know the pro-Israel
viewpoint, all he has to do is to turn on his television
set, buy a newspaper or contact his nearest politician.
The state of Israel is purely the product of the
political machinations of one political group—the
Zionists—made up largely of atheistic self-proclaimed
and false Jews. You find the Zionists trying to
involve the U.S. of America in their feud with the
Arabs at every time—which involvement is over land
which has been stolen by the Zionists.
Let us contrast the “traditional” basis of American
foreign policy in rejecting “entangling alliances with
foreign powers” and the political, economic and
military disasters that have always resulted when this
historic principle of non-intervention (neutrality) has
been forgotten or ignored. You are going to really
have to reach back a long way for this one.
If America is to avoid being swept into the
maelstrom of a nuclear confrontation in the Middle
East and a resulting world war that would destroy
all the fruits of Western culture and civilization,
you must stand firm for a policy of neutrality and
non-involvement in the Middle East and demand a
return of your soldiers, equipment and all
fragments thereof—HOME TO AMERICA!
Historians have already pointed out quite sufficiently
that American intervention in the affairs of Europe in
1917 only created new problems for America. That,
dear ones who don’t remember, was the Bolshevik
Revolution in Russia. Within only a couple of decades,
the fruits of the Versailles Treaty were harvested: World
War II. By secret planning of President Franklin D.
Roosevelt and England’s Prime Minister Winston S.
Churchill, the U.S. experienced its greatest military
disaster at Pearl Harbor, which led to your involvement
once again in the ancient quarrels of other nations.
Yet, in spite of the sacrifice of thousands of
American youth and the expenditure of billions of
the taxpayers’ money, no lasting accomplishment
came out of the two world wars, as I am sure any
of you can take note.
Thousands of American soldiers, almost forgotten,
still patrol the uneasy border between South and North
Korea. An uneasy truce, constantly being violated,
reflects the failure to secure convincing victory either on
the military or diplomatic fronts. Again, the violation of
your policy of neutrality led to the needless death of
countless American youths. Some of these soldiers still
are POW’s and, beloved chelas, a great number of them
are in SOVIET PRISONS IN RUSSIA AT THIS VERY
TIME. Your intervention in Asian affairs has led to the
upsetting of the subtle balance of power in Asia and has
given the Soviet Empire the excuse for formation of the
strongest military force in world history to protect its
Asian empire from American encroachment.
Now you had better take a closer look at that which
is taking place through China at the present time, for it
is far more important than you can imagine. CHINA IS
BEGINNING A VAST EXPLORATION OF THE
ANTARCTIC!! NOW JUST WHY DO YOU SUPPOSE
THEY WOULD BE DOING SUCH A THING?
Your retreat from Vietnam, after the expenditure of
more than 50,000 lives and hundreds of billions of
dollars, constituted the first military defeat for the U.S.
Although your troops were finally out, the war-torn
peninsula remained aflame with intense conflict. Your
intervention in Vietnam was a crime, not only to all
Vietnamese but to yourselves, and the significance of
your shameful defeat is not even vaguely understood by
Americans. You have left yourselves open to be actually
invaded by these Viet-Cong right into and up through
your southern border with Mexico. Further, your
government is indeed over its head into the Opium trade
from out of the Asian Golden Triangle.

Your misadventure in Vietnam is categorical in
its proof of the total irresponsibility and stupidity
of the internationalist policy of “perpetual war for
perpetual peace”, which you have followed since
the days of poor foolish puppet Woodrow Wilson.
It is clearly established, by all these lessons of
the past and present, that American involvement in
the affairs of foreign nations is a costly and
useless exercise in meddling.
Americans must examine carefully the
unending propaganda of the Zionists, in the press,
on the air and especially on the floor of Congress.
Able exponents of Zionist schemes to entangle you
in the quarrels and feuds of the Mideast forget
their roles as “doves of peace” in the Vietnam
conflict, and raise their shrill “war-hawk” cries for
intervention in the Arab-Israeli conflict.
With Zionists in control of the American press,
radio and TV, the flood of advocates for American
intervention are selling the American public a false
religious-political sentimentality that, “Israel is
God’s chosen nation—you must save it!” Oh,
perish the thought!
If your people and leaders ignore the lessons
of the past and involve you in the angers and
hates of the Mideast, then will come the most
horrible nuclear holocaust and the death of the
world you have known and presumably loved.
HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE
Your examination of American diplomatic history
must begin at least as far back as Washington’s
Farewell Address of 1796, wherein he admonished
your young country to guard against foreign
entanglements. “It is our true policy”, declared
George Washington, “to steer clear of permanent
alliances with any portion of the foreign world—so
far, I mean, as we are now at liberty to do it.”
This policy of avoiding entanglements and
maintaining neutrality in the Washington presidential
tradition was solidified in Thomas Jefferson’s first
inaugural address, in which the new president
supported the non-interventionist policy of Washington.
Jefferson counseled his fellow citizens to enjoy
“peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all
nations, and entangling alliances with NONE.”
Washington’s great rule found further expression in
the Monroe Doctrine, enunciated by President James
Monroe in 1823. All Americans know that the chief
executive here declared that the Western Hemisphere
was the specific interest of the U.S. and that the nations
of Europe and Asia were to keep out of the Western
Hemisphere in terms of military adventure or conquest.
You further guaranteed the safety and preservation of
these nations within your Western Hemisphere’s
geographical area—you most certainly did not
promise to invade them as with Panama.
What many forget over and over, is that Monroe
added another guarantee, namely: “As long as the other
nations of the world respect our area of influence in the
Western Hemisphere, we acknowledge that we have no
MORAL right to interfere with the extensions of power
by other nations in the other areas of the world.” Thus,
President Monroe sharply delineated his understanding of
the moral basis for Washington’s neutrality policy. It
may come as a surprise to many misinformed Americans
to learn that the Monroe Doctrine is a two-way street.
As long as your leaders were firm in supporting this
doctrine, other nations respected it and observed is
restrictions. In 1866, the Monroe Doctrine was invoked
to oppose the intervention of France in Mexico, which
had as it object the establishment of the Archduke
Maximilian as Mexico’s emperor. Again, in the late
1860s, President Ulysses Grant broadened the doctrine
to forbid the transfer of European territory in the
New World from one European power to another.
In 1905, Teddy Roosevelt added what was to
become known as the Roosevelt Corollary to the
Monroe Doctrine. President Roosevelt expounded
the principle that “chronic wrongdoing, or an
impotence resulting in the general loosening of the
ties of civilized society on the part of a country in
the Western Hemisphere, might require the U.S. to
exercise an international police power.”
Roosevelt’s forceful declaration was generated by
the situation in Latin America and the Caribbean area,
where the navies of the British and German empires
were setting up blockades of the Venezuelan coast.
The Pan American Conference of 1940 reasserted that
no country in the New World could be transferred from
one power to another, and the U.S. was authorized to act
unilaterally in an emergency to enforce this principle.
One more example of this application of the
Monroe Doctrine occurred in 1962, when President
John F. Kennedy instituted a naval blockade
around Cuba and announced a “naval quarantine of
the island”. After secret negotiations and an
agreement, not yet made public, between the
president and the leaders of the Kremlin, the
missiles were “officially removed” from Cuba.
Your last foray in the New World under the
Monroe Doctrine was in 1965, when U.S. Marines
were sent into the Domincan Republic to quell a
communist-inspired revolution.
After reading this profile of Washington’s and
Jefferson’s advice to stay clear of involvement with
foreign nations outside the Western Hemisphere, it is
valid to pause and ask how you slipped up and permitted
yourselves to become involved in two world wars and
several “local wars”—set forth by Executive Order
and never declared valid by your Congress.
Again, a review of history is requisite to a full
comprehension of both of these twin disasters and the
conspiratorial webs that ensnared your government.
Though Americans claim to detest war, you have
lost hundreds of thousands of your fighting men
in both world wars in the effort to “make the
world ‘SAFE FOR DEMOCRACY’”.
The critical question must arise: “Why did
America permit itself to be baited into these
terrible wars?” Most Americans remain woefully
uninformed as to the whys and wherefors of the
maneuverinig that surreptitiously nudged the United
States of America into those holocausts.
PLANNED SECRET PATH TO WORLD WAR I
In 1916, the political parties of the U.S. sensed the
mood of the electorate as calling for neutrality. The
majority of citizens felt the quarrels of Europe were their
own family affairs over there. Woodrow Wilson,
hypocritically, was running as the candidate who “kept
us out of war”. The Republican platform also called for
a “strict and honest neutrality in the European war”.
The Democratic platform condemned the efforts of
every organization “that has for its object the
advancement of the interest of a foreign power”.
Then, on January 22, 1917, President Wilson told the
Congress: “We do not desire any hostile conflict with the
Imperial German government; we are the sincere friends
of the German people and earnestly desire to remain at
peace with the government that speaks for them.”
While the American people were thus lulled
into the belief that both political parties were
“peace parties”, already, hidden events were
pushing Wilson toward a warlike position.
MENTIONING THE UNMENTIONABLE
As one traces American steps of intervention
toward both World Wars, historians find it essential
to examine the part which Zionism has played in
getting Americans to fight Eruopean wars and then
expose the real political objectives of the Zionists.
When one attempts to point out the part played by
Zionists in getting you into war, the cry is immediately
made that “You are anti-Semitic”. This, many times,
frightens the unsuspecting historian and closes his
inquiry into this important aspect of political life—which
is exactly that which it is created to perfect.
Oddly enough, one can successfully speak of
German history without being branded anti-German;
one can discuss the Irish, the Poles or Italians,
without fear of reprisal. But let one discuss the
origins of the present Arab-Israeli conflicts and—
unless the Jews are cast in nothing but the most
glowing terms—the “anti-Semitic” charge springs
forward like some reflex, calculated to intimidate and
gag any concessions on behalf of the Arabs.
Yet, you cannot trace American intervention in
World War I and your abandonment of Gen.
Washington’s injunction “to avoid permanent alliances”
without examining Zionism and its role in pushing the
U.S. into war. So, without apology, we must trace the
steps by which Zionists have pushed “gentile” nations
into bitter conflict with other “gentile” nations, in order
for the Zionsist nation to rise triumphant out of the
discord and ruins of the goyim nations.
ZIONISM IS NOT JUDAISM!
Zionism is an unknown quantity to most people;
but one fact must be made unmistakably clear, and
that is that Zionism IS NOT JUDAISM, NOR IS IT
JEWRY. ZIONISM IS AN INTERNATIONAL AND
CULTURAL SCHEME TO ESTABLISH A JEWISH
HOMELAND IN WHAT WAS FORMERLY KNOWN
AS PALESTINE AND IS NOW ISRAEL!
Zionism was founded not by Abraham or Moses,
but by Theodor Herzl, a Hungarian journalist, in 1897.
Herzl was Jewish, but there are many non-Jewish
Zionists and many Jewish non-Zionists.
There was only one small and inconvenient difficulty
with Herzl’s dream of setting up this Zionist homeland
in Palestine: 93 percent of its inhabitants were Arabs, and
this had been historically true for 19 centuries. It is true
that more than 3,000 years ago the area was INVADED
AND CONQUERED BY BANDS OF HEBREWS AND
A “MIXED MULTITUDE” OF OTHERS, but the blood
relationship between these Biblical peoples and modern
Jews, after more than a hundred generations, is most
faint indeed—and that is to say the very least.

DEMOCRACY FOR DESPOTS?
DEMOCRACY BUDS IN AN UNLIKELY PLACE: THE UN

Who would have thought it? Who would have
predicted that the United Nations—that much-abused and
often-ignored wind tunnel on the East River—would
become this autumn the most important political forum
on the planet, a place where the world’s only
superpower must pay court to the votes of the world?
Yet that is what is happening, as the Bush
administration struggles to persuade the rest of the world,
and particularly its fellow members of the Security Council,
to give it permission to make war on Iraq.
It’s not really global democracy, but it’s looking like the first
glimmerings of it. The administration, having gotten its war bill
past the elected senators and representatives in Washington,
has found that it must now win over the governments of the
other nations, many of them also popularly elected.
The U.S. government is trying to do this with
reasoned arguments, veiled threats, backroom armtwisting
and promises of favors—just the way it won
the vote in Congress. If it loses, it can still go to
war on its own, but only at a high political price.
Being a superpower isn’t supposed to be this
complicated, or this confining.
President Bush’s new national security strategy,
issued last month, warned that “we will not hesitate to
act alone, if necessary” to counter threats. But having
won the political battle at home, Bush finds himself
in a tougher battle at the UN. He might not win and,
if he doesn’t, he may find that his ability to act alone
is a lot more limited than he thought it was.
Call it The Revenge of The Rest. …
The world has never had to cope with a nation as strong
as the United States is now. Reports from overseas say that
other countries, friends as well as foes, are worried, even
frightened, by this overwhelming power and not at all reassured
that the Bush administration knows how to handle it.
Thus, the search has been on to find some way to
put some international limits on this 800-pound gorilla.
The United Nations may be the answer.
Oddly enough, the American people had a voice
in this event and may cheer on the result.
Two months ago, the administration appeared ready to
attack Iraq on its own, possibly with allies like Britain but without
any UN approval. This was an administration, after all, that had
scorned the UN and other international political organizations,
like the International Criminal Court. It argued that other
nations were like Lilliputians who would use international rules
and regulations to tie down the American Gulliver.
British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Bush’s closest ally,
had been using his access to the White House to push
Bush toward a UN resolution, to counter political
opposition to the war within Britain. Vice President Dick
Cheney, on a Middle East swing, was told by the rulers
there that they could not support a unilateral attack on Iraq
without risking uprisings by their people. …
Clearly, the administration had a political problem. A
unilateral attack, especially if it went wrong, could produce
a regime change in Washington as well as Baghdad.
Bush, bowing to this pressure, went to the United
Nations with a speech that called for Iraqi disarmament and
an attack if President Saddam Hussein refused. He warned the
UN that its credibility was at stake if it let Hussein continue

to flout past UN resolutions on weapons inspections.
For many in the administration, it was a galling
mission. Undersecretary of State John Bolton, a leading
hawk, had been quoted in the New York Review of Books
as saying that “there is no such thing as the United
Nations. There is an international community that can
be led by the only real power left in the world, and
that is the United States, when it suits our interests
and when we can get others to go along.”
This was not an administration that was used to going to the
UN hat in hand, begging for approval. Bush expected the UN to
“go along” and more or less demanded it. But others were
searching for ways to restrain Bush as well as Hussein.
Their attitude was summed up by a former European
ambassador to Washington who told Clyde Prestowitz,
president of the Economic Strategy Institute, that, in its
domestic politics, Americans “have the wonderful
system of checks and balances that gives all concerned
an ability to influence the outcome. But in foreign
policy... many of us who will be deeply affected [by
American policy] have no opportunity even to make our
voice heard, let alone to influence anything.”
These non-Americans were looking for some
global checks and balances, and Bush’s approach to
the UN seems to have provided that. …
If the world’s most powerful nation is to be kept from
wielding unlimited power, some global institution must exist
to provide the checks and balances. Suddenly, the UN is it.
Nothing was more unexpected. Any strong
institution—national or international—needs the legitimacy
that comes from the respect and consent of the people who
live under it. The United Nations, which turned 57 last
Thursday, has a history of debate and posturing,
with forays into peacekeeping and nation-building
that have been only sporadically successful.
The United States mostly has treated the UN as an
impediment or an irrelevancy and has taken it seriously
only when it wanted the Security Council to countersign
some American action, like the Gulf War in 1991. This
was what Bush had in mind. The last thing he expected
was that his UN speech would help create a global
democracy able to modify or even control U.S. power.
But that seems to be what is happening. Why?
One reason is that most of the world thinks the
Bush policy toward Iraq is misguided, if not mad, and
desperately wants to halt it. Another, no doubt, is the
new respect for the organization won by its secretary
general, Kofi Annan, who has become the most admired
and effective UN leader since Dag Hammarskjold.
The real reason probably lies in the world’s realization
that, while the U.S. usually can be counted on to do the
right thing, its overwhelming power is a danger. No
nation—not China nor Russia nor even a bloc of nations
like the European Union—can challenge this American
power. The only place for an effective challenge is the UN.
Bush gave the UN, and especially its Security
Council members, that chance.
If they succeed, global politics will never be the same.
[JR: The power of the U.S. has become a flash point of
concern for the global community. We have underlings in
the State Dept. like war hawk John Bolton making
statements as to our invincible powers around the world.
Bolton’s pomposity only adds to the concerns of other
nations the fact that our government is out of control and
is now overrun by individuals who have assumed powers
they should not and do not have. We can only turn our
focus and our thoughts that the UN’s resolution will
change global politics not according to how the U.S.
sees it or declares it to be, but according to what the
world agrees to and pronounces it should be.]
OPPOSITION OVER IRAQ TAKES RISE VIA THE NET

“As Congress prepared to pass a resolution authorizing
the use of force against Iraq last week, college campuses were
quiet and just a few dozen peace demonstrators stood with
signs outside Senator John Kerry’s Boston office.
Yet on Amy Hendrickson’s computer, a movement was
brewing. “I get 600 e-mails a day,” said Hendrickson, a
Brookline software consultant who works from home. “These
days, I spend 10 to 12 hours a day on the computer.”
When tens of thousands of people came out on Oct. 6 to
protest U.S. policy on Iraq, the seeds of action had been sown
not on college campuses, which had their own, much smaller
protests last Monday, but on the computer desktops of people
like Hendrickson, 58. From her living room, she helped organize
simultaneous protests in 14 countries, including Japan,
Bangladesh, Germany, Austria, Australia, India and Nepal.
This year, for the first time since the advent of the
Internet, Americans are engaging in public debate about
whether to go to war, and a great deal of the opposition
has coalesced online. The ease of electronic communication
allows like-minded people to sign petitions and coordinate
protests far more easily than they could in the 1960s, or
even a decade ago during the Gulf War. But it also raises
a question: Can a movement with no physical center and no
pen-and-ink signatures really have a political impact? …
She got a message back from Not In Our Name,
a New York-based peace group that asked her to get
the word out in Boston about the Oct. 6 protest.
Not In Our Name is, in many ways, typical of the
groups protesting the White House stance on Iraq. Formed
eight months ago by veteran peace activists worried about
the direction the war on terror was taking, it gained sudden
momentum when the Bush administration turned its attention
to Saddam Hussein. The group picked up celebrity
endorsements from actress Susan Sarandon, radio emcee
Casey Kasem, hip-hop musician Mos Def, playwright Tony
Kushner, and authors Alice Walker and Kurt Vonnegut,
among others, who signed a call to resist the government’s
policy of “military coercion” and published it in a
full-page advertisement in the New York Times. …
On her own, she decided to send more than 1,000 e-mails to
peace groups she found on the Internet around the world,
inviting them to demonstrate alongside protesters in the United
States by holding protests outside U.S. embassies at noon.
People at Not In Our Name discouraged her, Hendrickson
said, saying the group wanted to focus on Americans.
But she pressed on anyway, with e-mails that
suggested slogans and possible demands on the U.S.
government, as well as a copy of Not In Our Name’s
resistance pledge, which is translated into 12 languages
on the group’s Website. “Help launch the first World
Wide Peace Demonstration!” she wrote, calling on
them to “protest current U.S. policies”.
A few days later, the first message came back,
from Dhaka, Bangladesh.
“They said, ‘We’ll be demonstrating with you,”’ she
said. ‘‘That first [e-mail response] was a hell of a kick.”
Next came a missive from Nepal. “Dear Peacefriends,” it
read. Then Manila (“Dear comrades”) and Berlin (“Hi peaceloving
Americans!”) and “Hello from Helsinki, Finland.”
In all, people in more than 14 cities wrote back
that, “in groups” large and small, they had
demonstrated. Some sent e-mail pictures to prove it.
“Part of the promise of the Net is that people can
communicate unmediated,” Hendrickson said. “It’s people to

people, not from one government to the other.”…

“IRAQ ISN’T THE ONLY WAR SHAPING UP
IN THE MIDDLE EAST”

A new crisis is brewing along the border between
Israel and Lebanon, but this one is not about Lebanese
guerrillas fighting the occupation of Lebanese land or even
about Palestinian guerrillas crossing the frontier to fight the
occupation of Palestinian land. It is about water.
The Council for the South, an official Lebanese body
tasked with helping spread development to impoverished
southern Lebanon, has installed a pump at the Wazzani
Springs, which feed into the Hasbani River, itself a tributary
of the Jordan, which empties into the Sea of Galilee (aka to
Israelis as the Kinneret, and to Arabs as Lake Tiberias). In
response, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has threatened
military action to prevent what he and other officials in the
Jewish state ludicrously describe as the theft of their water.
The facts of the case are clear. The water source in
question is part of the Jordan system, which is an international
one, so Israel has every right to ensure that its rights are not
abrogated. But what Lebanon proposes to do is entirely
within its own rights, as laid down by the 1955 Johnston
Agreement. That pact was never ratified by the governments
in question—those of Lebanon, Israel, Syria, and Jordan—but
it was signed by technical teams from all four and actually
granted the lion’s share of the water to the Jewish state.
Lebanon was accorded an annual take of 35 million
cubic meters (mcm). Seeing as how the Lebanese
government had no access to the area between 1978 and
2000 owing to Israeli occupation, the amount of water its
citizens were able to draw was strictly limited. Today it
stands at just 7 mcm, and the new facility will increase
that to just 10 mcm. An Israeli academic recently inflated
the figure to 15 mcm, but even that would be well within
the limits established by the Johnston deal.
The U.S. government has sent experts to examine the
site, and their findings have led the State Department to
counsel “restraint” by both sides. The problem, of course, is
that for Lebanon, “restraint” means refraining from legitimate
efforts to provide water to parched villages. For Israel, it
means not bombing the property of a neighboring state as
punishment for simply making use of its own resources.
As usual, an unfair status quo that benefits Israel is
regarded as sacrosanct by Washington. Imagine what the
State Department’s message would have been if the experts
had concluded that Lebanon was acting improperly.
I would let this particular manifestation of the usual
double standard speak for itself, but Israeli temerity and
American duplicity go even further in this instance than is
usually the case. The Israelis, you see, do not simply wait
for Wazzani water to find its way to them via the Hasbani
and the Jordan: They actually still have a pump on
Lebanon’s side of the border, within spitting distance of the
equipment installed by the Council for the South.
Some say that if and when the Lebanese facility starts
running, its location will dry up the pool from which the Israeli
pump draws water. That would certainly inconvenience Israel,
but it is hardly, as Sharon and others have claimed, a casus
belli. The Israeli installation is a relic of the occupation and
has no business being there in the first place.
The last thing Washington wants is a flareup on
Israel’s northern border just as George W. Bush tries
to gain at least a modicum of Arab acceptance for a
war against Iraq. The past few months have taught
that Bush lacks the brass to keep Sharon in line, so
even a minor skirmish over Wazzani threatens to
explode into a full-blown clash that might rival or
even surpass the infamous bloodletting sparked by
Israel’s 1996 “Grapes of Wrath” offensive.
Hizbullah, the organization that dogged Israeli occupation
forces until they finally left in 2000, has warned in no uncertain
terms that if the Israelis knock out the Wazzani site, retaliation
will ensue. For example, an Israeli juice plant sits within a few
hundred yards of the border, well within the range of even
Hizbullah’s smaller weapons. It has been mentioned as a
possible target if Israel destroys the new pump.
If experience were any guide, such a move would
then prompt Israel to up the ante by launching air
strikes against bridges, power stations, and possibly
major water facilities in other parts of Lebanon.
Israeli warplanes can operate with impunity in Lebanon,
whose air force consists of a few antiquated Iroquois
helicopters (yes, the “Hueys” that were so ubiquitous in
Vietnam). The government that sends them to wreak
havoc on this tiny nation should not fool itself,
however, into thinking that it can do so without paying
some sort of price itself. Hizbullah has a crude but
effective arsenal of Katyusha rockets which, when
launched in mass salvos, can inflict significant damage.
What Sharon would do in response after a shower of fifty
to two hundred of these projectiles is anybody’s guess, but
it is reasonable to assume that he would not be overly
concerned about civilian casualties on this side of the border.
There might then be yet another Hizbullah
riposte, etc., etc., ad nauseam.
All of this is to say that whatever “loss” Israel claims
it would sustain by “allowing” Lebanon to exercise its legal
rights, it can only be multiplied by taking military action.
The Lebanese will undoubtedly suffer more, but that will
not alter the fact that Israelis will be subjected to wholly
unnecessary hardships brought about solely by their own
government’s refusal to behave in a civilized manner.
Critics of Beirut’s position complain that its timing was
calculated to box the Israelis in, i.e. to take advantage of U.S.
pressure on the Jewish state to avoid hostilities during the
run-up to Iraq. Frankly, that is entirely possible.
It is also, however, utterly irrelevant. When and
how a particular nation-state chooses to avail itself
more fully of its own under-utilized resources is a
matter for its own government to decide. That
process should not have to take place under ominous
threat from an aggressive neighbor.
[JR: The long-awaited Wazzani pumping project was
officially inaugurated Wednesday 10/16/02 in a ceremony
attended by a number of top officials, including President
Emile Lahoud. Lahoud’s surprise presence however, was
due to the decision by U.S. Embassy officials to boycott the
ceremony, but was attended by representatives from the UN,
the EU and various embassies. The U.S. Embassy explained
its decision in a statement protesting Lebanon’s “failure”
to inform third parties that it intended to carry out the
project. All embassies were aware of this “water project”
and it didn’t happen overnight, but unless they get special
permission from these “third parties”, meaning Israel and
the U.S., I guess it just isn’t Kosher and is considered
anti-Semitic. It was stated that the U.S. Embassy’s decision
was “in keeping with our position that unilateral action by
either party undermines efforts to reach an
understanding,” the statement said. “We very much
want the dispute to be solved peacefully and fairly.
To that end we continue to work closely with the
governments of Lebanon and Israel in conjunction with the
UN, the EU and others.” Ugh… gag—I feel nauseated.]
ISRAEL’S GOVERNMENT FALLS APART
LABOR MINISTERS WALK OUT
OVER FUNDING FOR SETTLEMENTS

JERUSALEM—Defense Minister Benjamin Ben Eliezer
resigned abruptly Wednesday during contentious budget talks,
triggering a collapse of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s “unity”
government and setting the stage for possible early elections.
Ben Eliezer’s resignation prompted other key Labor
ministers to resign as well, including Foreign Minister
Shimon Peres, who called the situation “a crisis”.
The showdown came over Sharon’s budget, with Labor
demanding that $147 million be cut from the government
support of Jewish settlements in the West Bank and Gaza
Strip. Ben Eliezer argued that the money should be spent
on pensioners and the poor, but he also suggested that
funding the settlements was part of a military
solution that, so far, had not brought peace to Israel.
The fate of Sharon’s government remained unclear
Wednesday. In the next few days, Sharon could try to fashion
a slim new majority with some small right-wing parties, or forge
ahead with a more vulnerable minority government. …
The budget passed, by a 67-45 vote, after a
messy, daylong political drama in the Knesset
chambers. The Knesset still must approve the budget
two more times before final acceptance.
Legislators heckled both Sharon and Ben Eliezer as
they made last-minute appeals. Sharon, who had drawn
attorneys and business leaders into the budget talks in
an unusual attempt to save the coalition, vowed that he
would continue “to lead the state responsibly”.
“At this fateful hour, with the eyes of the world
upon us, what is required of all of us in the coalition
is to vote for the budget,” said Sharon, who days
earlier had threatened to dismiss any Cabinet member
who opposed him on the budget. …
Sharon also pointed out that the debate over settlement
money came a day after a Palestinian gunman infiltrated a
settlement in the northern West Bank and killed two girls
and a woman before being shot dead by Israeli soldiers.
The $147 million in question is less than onethird
of 1 percent of the overall budget.
Israel has faced a budget squeeze over the past year
as military incursions across the West Bank and the
Gaza Strip have sapped its resources and an economic
downturn has boosted the jobless rate. …
[JR: Crisis or not, Sharon has the reigns of government
before new elections are held in nine months. The Zionists
both in the Likud and Labor Party are united even in their
so-called disunity. The war will go on and so will the new
settlements no matter who is in power. The real crisis for
Israel would be if by some miracle the U.S. was forced to
withdraw its financial and military support. That would
happen when we all wake up to the fact that Israel
and not Iraq is the world’s number-one threat.]
U.S. OFFERS ISRAEL AID PACKAGE AS SHIELD

AL QUDS (AFP)—The United States has offered
Israel a huge aid package to shield its economy from the
fallout of any military action against Iraq, a senior official
revealed Monday as a Tel Aviv daily spoke of a request
for loan guarantees totaling 10 billion dollars.
“The Americans have proposed a large aid package to
allow the Israeli economy to weather the blow of a U.S. strike
on Iraq,” the top official told AFP, asking not to be identified.
The offer was made during Prime Minister Ariel
Sharon’s visit to Washington last week, he said.
It is being considered by Israeli experts, who are

keen to revive an economy already reeling from the
twin blows of the two-year-old Palestinian uprising
and a slump in its key hi-tech industries.
“We’re basically talking about credit guarantees and
soft loans to stimulate a return of foreign investment to
Israel, help relaunch a string of projects and strengthen our
credibility in overseas financial markets,” the official said.
After his talks with Sharon last Wednesday, U.S.
President George W. Bush told a joint news conference
that he understood the high price that Israel was paying
for Palestinian “terrorism” but remained convinced of
Israel’s enormous economic potential.
More than a decade ago, the United States
offered Israel a huge package of soft loans to help
the integration of a million immigrants from the former
Soviet Union, but then the aid was made conditional
on it not being used in the Palestinian territories.
The liberal broadsheet Haaretz said Israel had
set up an inter-ministerial committee headed by
Sharon’s chief of staff Dov Weissglass and including
officials from the Treasury and the defence ministry
to discuss how large a package to press for.
The committee was holding out for a total
package of 10 billion dollars, including soft loans as
well as loan guarantees, the paper said.
It also wanted Washington to allow the 2.1 billion dollars
in military aid which it currently gives Israel each year to
spend in the Jewish state instead of the United States.
[JR: Well the U.S. is Zionist Israel’s BIG piggy bank. If
you believe that Israel is obligated to pay back one cent on
these loans (let alone any interest), there is some prime
property to sell to you in the Gaza or West Bank
overlooking the Mediterranean. Sharon is confident that
we will always cave in to Israeli demands and follow his
commands because he knows that Israel now has full
control of the U.S. government. Sharon, in a showing of
contemptuous arrogance, made this declaration in an
interview in May of this year. While on his latest visit here
Sharon gave very high praise to Pres. Bush and his
administration for doing more for Israel than any other
President or past administration. Now, if that doesn’t
shatter your illusions about how vulnerable the state of
Israel isn’t, nothing will. America is now run like the
autocratic state of Israel and Americans are classified
as second-class citizens just like the Palestinians.
Israel along with Britain and a few so-called Iraqi
dissidents will make up the U.S. coalition that Bush hinted
about when moaning about the UN’s inaction over Iraq.
No one has dared make mention of exactly how much this
war will cost us along with the handouts to Israel as well
as its effect on our economy and the jobless rate. The spin
will be that America will benefit from the new oil
companies that the Bush Cartel will create and because
of this there is really no need to consider the
horrendous price that will be paid by the Iraqi people.]
ISRAEL SEES ‘MAJOR’ PROBLEMS IN PEACE PLAN

JERUSALEM—U.S. special envoy Williams Burns
arrived in Israel on Wednesday as the government of
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon made clear that a
diplomat-brokered “road map for peace” between
Palestinians and Israelis was unacceptable.
Sharon, in his first public reference to the plan
crafted by the so-called quartet of U.S., European Union,
United Nations and Russian diplomats, reportedly told a
visiting delegation from the Anti-Defamation League
on Tuesday night that the plan lacked credibility and
veered too far from the hard-line vision President
George Bush voiced in a June 24 speech.
Throughout the day Wednesday, Sharon advisers
took to the state and army radio airwaves to voice
reservations about the peace plan that was formally
presented to Sharon last week in Washington.
Even Foreign Minister Shimon Peres, who supports
settlement with Palestinians, cast doubts on the proposal
after Burns delivered the details in talks Wednesday.
“I believe the fact there is a road map should be
welcomed. I think a great deal of thought was invested in
the road map [but] there are major, many problems as well,”
Peres told reporters, with Burns at his side.
The plan, according to those familiar with its main
points, would demand Israel loosen restrictions on
Palestinian territories, end military “provocations” in Gaza
and the West Bank, and look toward dismantling
settlements in the Palestinian territories.
Palestinians are called on to unequivocally renounce terrorist
acts, call for an end to the two-year uprising, or intifada, and begin
to seriously institute reforms throughout the Palestinian Authority,
including establishment of a prime minister.
Cabinet minister Reuven Rivlin, a close adviser to Sharon,
said in pointed remarks Wednesday afternoon on Israel Radio
that Israel was open to U.S. efforts in the region but had
no special commitment to European or UN plans for
resolving the strife between Palestinians and Israelis.
“People are viewing the plan as something the Americans
have signed off on to placate the Europeans as a way to get
into Iraq,” said one knowledgeable source, referring to the
Bush administration efforts to garner international support
against Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. “But it doesn’t
call for new [Palestinian] leadership like the Bush speech did
and it doesn’t demand a full-stop to terror.”
Burns, an assistant secretary of state, has been traveling
throughout the Middle East this week in a mediation effort to
quell Israeli-Palestinian violence as the Bush administration
pushes for possible military confrontation with Iraq over its
weapons programs. Burns, from all reports, was aiming to
bolster confidence in the diplomats’ proposal.
Burns’ mission began as Israeli society, still reeling from
a gruesome, fiery bus bomb this week, was shaken by another
deep, unexpected security threat. State-run radio and
television broadcasts Wednesday afternoon revealed that a
high-ranking military commander had been arrested for spying
on behalf of the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah.
[JR: The recommendations that would have lessened the
hostilities and would have been a first step towards peace
have been—and with deliberation—solidly rejected by
Israel. Israel is unwilling to ease off on her provocative
actions in the Gaza and West Bank nor is she willing to
suspend her terrorization of innocent Palestinian civilians.
You can bet that it is written in stone that the Zionists will
never ever consider withdrawing from any of the illegal
settlements Israel has continuously built. Pres. Bush has
reinforced Israel’s position with his hard-line speeches
favoring Israel while refusing to mediate on the Palestinian
issues. This in effect has nullified any attempts from
outsiders like the UN or the EU to effect any changes in
Israel or the Middle East. Israel will remain adamant and
steadfast until the hell she has made freezes over.
This may have been a “road map” towards peace but
Israel has made deadly sure it leads to a dead end.
Israel and the U.S. are going through the motions
for peace while all the while planning for wars.]
U.S. WARNED INDONESIA OF TERROR THREAT

The United States ambassador to Jakarta, Ralph Boyce,
had warned the Indonesian government only a few days
before the blasts in Bali that unless it acted against
terrorist groups posing a threat to westerners, America
would begin to withdraw its diplomatic staff.
Last night those terrorists appeared to have struck at
one of the most vulnerable and valuable targets in the
country in a night of carnage on the paradise island of Bali,
Indonesia’s main source of tourist revenue.
The attacks will be a shattering blow to the
“island of the gods”, which draws visitors from all
over the world to experience mellow, exotic beauty
and colourful Hindu traditions amid the world’s most
populous Muslim nation. …
The island has little security and is open to anyone
seeking to strike soft targets as it gears up for an influx
of tens of thousands of Christmas tourists from
Australia, Europe, the United States and Japan.
Western intelligence officials have been arguing for
more than a month with their Indonesian counterparts
for action after the capture in west Java of a senior al-
Qaida terrorist, Omar Al-Faruq, whose leaked
confessions described plans to attack local targets.
The CIA had even presented Indonesian officials
with evidence of an al-Qaida plot to assassinate
President Megawati Sukarnoputri.
But U.S. and British officials have openly
admitted their frustration as the Indonesians failed to
arrest individuals they believe are directly involved in
planning and committing terrorism.
Megawati’s government is a coalition dependent on the
support of Islamic religious parties and she fears a backlash
from Muslim activists who are trying to wreak havoc in a
nation that has a long tradition of religious harmony.
Last night’s explosions are likely to force the
government to confront its most radical opponents or
risk the destruction of a multi-million-pound tourist
industry that is one of the country’s few resources after
the Asian financial crash and the chaotic overthrow of
its longtime dictator, General Suharto, in 1998.
Indonesia boasts a bewildering proliferation of
groups competing for hardline Islamic support,
including a murderous militia called Laskar Jihad,
which has used ethnic cleansing methods to expel
Christians from the Spice Islands.
But Western officials have identified one group,
Jamaah Islamiyah, as the most credible terrorist threat
following a visit to its leaders two years ago by Osama bin
Laden’s second-in-command, Ayman al-Zawahiri.
They have singled out a firebrand cleric, Abu
Bakar Ba’asyir, as the spiritual guide of the group.
In two recent interviews with The Sunday Times,
Ba’asyir denied any connections to terrorism,
although he vowed to go on preaching that Muslims
had a duty to use violence in a just religious cause.
Ba’asyir, 65, has been linked to al-Qaida in a series of
leaked CIA documents and in statements by security
officials in the U.S. and Singapore. Both countries have
demanded, in vain, that Indonesia detain him.
A defiant Ba’asyir filed lawsuits in a Jakarta
court for defamation against the CIA and Time
magazine, which printed details of the allegations.
The accusations are partly based on an alleged
confession by Al-Faruq, a 31-year-old Kuwaiti said to
be an emissary of al-Qaida in southeast Asia.
Indonesian security agents, acting on a tip-off
from the CIA, arrested Al-Faruq in west Java last
June. Three months later, the CIA interrogators are
said to have broken Al-Faruq’s resistance and
extracted testimony against Ba’asyir.
After the Indonesians complained that they had
received nothing in exchange for their assistance, the
Americans handed over the dossier and demanded
they arrest Ba’asyir.
[JR: The U.S. is keen to place blame on the Indonesian
government for not acting on our warnings of a possible
terrorist attack. Tragedies are often allowed to happen
because they are useful in gaining a political advantage or
are part of a political agenda. It would have been

reassuring for the victims and the firemen who were
sacrificed on 9/II as well as their grieving families, had our
government heeded the warnings in August from both
Russia and France that might have prevented a 9/II.
You could also question Sir Powell why the Defense
Dept. on May 8 th gave the Taliban in Afghanistan
$43 million to buy their cooperation for our oil pipeline
project, and why in July 2001 we had a meeting in Berlin
planning to coordinate the war in Afghanistan. Our aim
in Indonesia is to gain the support of a government that is
in control of the world’s most populous Muslim nation of
220 million people. What resources does Indonesia have
that the Bush oil cartel wants to control? I don’t think the
U.S. is acting out of any great concerns over how terrorism
will effect the U.S. and foreign tourist trade to the
exotic island of Bali, but is evaluating how cooperative
and responsive Pres. Megawati and her government
is to our ardent and duplicitous proposals.]
IRELAND VOTES YES TO EUROPE

As Irish voters ratify the Nice Treaty at second
attempt, Henry McDonald says the vote will have
major implications for Eastern Europe, but also for
Irish politics north and south of the border.
Ireland opened the door today to the EU for
nearly a hundred million Eastern Europeans by voting
to endorse the Nice Treaty at the second attempt.
Millions who used to live under communism
before 1989 from the Baltic to the Black Sea now have
the right to join one of the richest clubs on the
planet. Approval by the Irish has cleared the last
roadblock to their ambitions to enter the EU.
Romano Prodi, the European Commission President,
said Ireland had given a “green light” to EU enlargement.
The Nice Treaty on EU enlargement has been
accepted by Irish voters, with a Yes vote of 62.8
percent. The total turnout was 48.45 percent.
Bertie Ahern, the Taoiseach (Prime Minister) declared
victory in mid afternoon claiming the difficulties of the
last Nice referendum had been overcome. Ahern said
Ireland had rejected “the eurosceptic option”. …
All the major parties in the Irish parliament (Dail
Eireann) had supported a Yes vote along with the
employers’ organisations, the Irish Congress of Trade
Unions and the Irish Farmers Association. The treaty
was opposed by a broad coalition ranging from the
Marxist hard left to the Catholic far right and
encompassed Sinn Fein and the Green Party.
By four o’clock today the results from 40 out of the 42
constituencies across the Irish Republic had been counted.
Out of a total of 1,381, 205 votes cast, 865,835 voted
Yes to Nice while 510,265 voted No.
The No vote was strongest in conservative, rural parts
of Ireland. The highest recorded No vote being Donegal
North East where 47.5 percent voted against Nice. In
contrast the constituency with the highest Yes vote is also
regarded as the most liberal in Ireland—Dun Laoghaire,
south of Dublin, where 73.3 percent voted Yes.
Opponents of the Nice Treaty claimed the Yes vote was
a reluctant one from people who felt control ebbing away
from them. The leader of the Irish Green Party Trevor Sargent
said Irish neutrality would still be an issue despite
today’s vote. The Greens and their allies had claimed
that endorsing Nice would lead to Ireland joining the
proposed European Rapid Reaction Force.
Left-wing Socialist TD (Irish MP) Joe Higgins put the
Yes victory down in part to the spending power of the pro-
Nice lobby. Higgins said there was “disparity” between the
money spent by the two sides in the referendum. …
Victory has secured Bertie Ahern’s position as
Prime Minister for the next few years. Battered by a
series of scandals involving former colleagues accused
of corruption, unpopular cuts in health and education
hidden from the public during the June general election
and the debacle over his pet project, Stadium Ireland,
Ahern was in danger of facing a rebellion on the back
benches. Had he have lost the referendum the clamour
for Ahern to be replaced would have become louder
within the ruling Fianna Fail party. Ahern is now safe
at least until local and European elections in 2004.
One politician north of the border who will breathe a
sigh of relief will be Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble.
The outgoing First Minister of Northern Ireland has
established a friendly rapport with Ahern and has
expressed concern recently that the Irish Premier was in
danger of being toppled in an internal party coup.
Defeat for the No campaign is also the first
setback for Sinn Fein in Irish electoral politics since
the 1997 IRA ceasefire. Up until today the IRA’s
political allies have been on a roll with their support
growing on both sides of the border. The party
invested heavily in the No campaign being one of the
most active groups to fight against the Nice treaty.
As the Republic draws even closer to Europe the vote
will also precipitate the move towards economic integration
on the island of Ireland. Unlike the Republic Northern
Ireland is still outside the Euro zone. However, businesses
and consumers in large parts of the North use both the
Euro and Sterling in the daily transactions. Even in Belfast—
under the shadow of the City Hall, a symbol of unionist
power where the Union Jack still flies—several ATMs
dispense Euros alongside Sterling. By tying itself closer
to Brussels, Berlin and Bratislava today, Dublin may
have also helped to move closer to Belfast.
[JR: The Irish Yes vote was bought with the infusion of
money and foreign investments infused into the economies
of the big cities like Dublin, where the power is centered.
The question is how long can this booming economy be
sustained now that Ireland has become an insignificant
member of the EU? This is the BIG net the Elite use to
catch the smaller fish to get them into their murky pool
of power. Politician Bernie Ahern has always maintained
a close and amiable working relationship with the British
even during Ireland’s worst crisis. This has made him a
powerful player and influence in politics and also in the
future course of Irish history. It is likely that the “time
of the troubles” is not over for Ireland. Peace and
unification is not likely to come on the current winds of
change. The politicians of Ireland have traded in what little
freedom they had under their English masters and have
handed it over to their new masters, the EU.]
THE MEDIA’S WHITEWASH
OF THE BELTWAY SNIPER

Ballistics experts and eyewitnesses have agreed, and it
looks as though Maryland’s Police Chief Charles Moose
has successfully nabbed his man. Suspected serial sniper
John Allen Muhammad has been caught redhanded, with
the rifle, a scope and alterations to his auto which
effectively turned it into a shooting blind.
This irrefutable and damning evidence has put the
major media in an unenviable position, considering their notso-secret
longing for another Timothy McVeigh.
By now, even the most casual peruser of the
news has discerned that suspect Muhammad is Black,
thus defying 95% of the Cable News’ so-called
“experts” who had confidently predicted that the
shooter would be an angry White gun nut. Thus
flummoxed, the media next flailed about searching for
another favored target on which to pin the blame.
Defense Secretary Rumsfeld was incredulous
when asked—twice, by different reporters—if the U.S.
military “felt” responsible for the Beltway shootings,
because of the perp’s prior Army career.
The media’s PC obsession and their slavish loyalty to
absurd mischaracterization has once more blinded them to
the real story, which is found in Muhammad’s last name.
Mr. Muhammad, who was Mr. Williams until the year 2000,
has an interesting record, to say the least. According to
certain bias news reports, Mr. Muhammad provided a
security detail for Louis Farrakhan, during the 1995
so-called “Million Man March”, which was
immediately and openly denied on TV by Farrakhan.
Acquaintances have also come forward to report that Mr.
Muhammad, a recent convert to Islam, was known for his
anti-American, pro-terrorist rhetoric and that he always
seemed to have a ready supply of cash despite living in a
homeless shelter. The director of that shelter, the Lighthouse
Mission, even reported Muhammad’s oddities to the FBI.
The major media ignores inconvenient facts, which don’t fit
into their worldview—even if they are reported on by others. …
Mohammad’s “stepson”, Lee Malvo, who was
caught with him, is an illegal alien from Jamaica.
Jamaica is also the home of Sheikh Abdullah al-Faisal,
reported to be al-Qaida’s number two recruiter. The
links are intriguing, but blithely ignored.
Outside the hallowed halls of mainstream media
punditry, many regular Americans speculated that the
Beltway sniper was, indeed, linked to terrorism.
What better way to terrorize people than to gun them
down while they were performing innocent everyday tasks
like gassing the car and mowing the lawn?
He showed no bigotry, murdering men, women, Black, Latino
and White alike. He even tried—and nearly succeeded—
in killing a child, and he threatened to kill many more.
This sniper, like other terrorists, was focused solely and
determinedly on his hatred of all Americans. Most likely, like
them, he also considers himself as acting upon orders from God.
On September 12th, we thought the world had changed
and for many of us it did. The media and the Left,
however, are still dreamily ensconced in their world—where
it’s always September 10th. … Mr. Muhammad terrorizes
Washington and we’re supposed to understand his rage.
Since the 1970’s, Islamofascists have been behind
most acts of terrorism.
They are uniformly Muslim, and usually ethnic. For
the media, whose demons are White and Christian, this
is intolerable. Therefore, these inconvenient facts are
ignored like the proverbial elephant in the living room or
the unseemly belch by a dinner guest which everyone
politely pretends didn’t happen.
Americans, however, for the most part are
pragmatic realists. We realize we now have a serious
Fifth Column problem, even if the media doesn’t. …
[JR: There were many Muslims marching in solidarity with
fellow Americans in the demonstrations in cities across
the U.S. against this war on Iraq. I also watched as a
distinguished-looking representative of American Muslims
was interviewed by a foxy young Black girl on FOX News,
Sunday (10/27). After he defended the position of millions
of American Muslims in response to this “Muslim” D.C.
Sniper, this Black girl, looking very serious, then pressed
the usual extremist question to him. “But aren’t there
many radical Islamists out there?” He politely said, what
THEY do is against our Koran and true Muslims won’t
have anything to do with them and God WILL punish them.
I was surprised he didn’t take the opportunity to say:
“This suspected serial sniper, John Allen (Williams)
Muhammad was also Black.” Should that make all
Blacks become suspect as terrorist? I can just
imagine what the reaction of this young “Black” girl
would have been since she was trying so hard to negate
his defense of faithful American Muslims.]

MIDEAST CONFLICT BOOSTS TENSIONS
AT U.S. COLLEGES

When the University of Chicago brought in counselors
from the Anti-Defamation League this fall to train dormitory
advisers in sensitivity to ethnic and religious minorities, it was
one of many signs that another front in the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict has opened on America’s college campuses.
The highly unusual move came after allegations
that supporters of Israel had been harassed on the
Chicago campus and reflects similar concerns reported
by Jewish students and professors nationwide.
Meanwhile, some scholars of the Islamic world said
they also have become targets of intimidation.
Although most of the skirmishes have been
rhetorical rather than physical, university leaders are
increasingly concerned that the Middle East has become
such a bitterly charged topic that legitimate debate is
distorted or stifled, poisoning the academic environment.
Last week, more than 300 college and university presidents
issued a statement through the American Jewish Committee
saying they feared that hostility over Israel threatened to
erode the tradition of classroom civility and rational
discourse upon which scholarship and learning depend.
Indeed, on one North American campus, the
subject virtually has been put off limits.
Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
was to speak at Concordia University in Montreal on
Sept. 9, but his appearance was canceled after several
thousand pro-Palestinian demonstrators laid siege to the
lecture hall. Tear gas was used to subdue protesters
who broke windows and stormed the building, and a
number of students were arrested.
Declaring that the university needed a cooling-off
period, Rector Frederick Lowy proclaimed a moratorium on
events relating to the Middle East, including “public
speeches, rallies, exhibits and information tables.”
The university presidents’ statement expressed
concern over how Jewish students and supporters of
Israel have been treated in recent months, citing
various threats and defacement of property.
On the University of Colorado’s Boulder campus,
for example, a sukkah, or festive holiday booth, set
up by the Jewish student organization Hillel was
defaced with swastikas. Anti-Semitic graffiti were
scribbled on a Jewish fraternity house.
But the leaders also said something more
insidious is occurring.
“We are concerned that recent examples of classroom
and on-campus debate have crossed the line into
intimidation and hatred, neither of which have any place on
university campuses,” the statement said.
At Harvard University this fall, President Lawrence
Summers publicly noted that professors and students have a
perfect right to question Israel’s policies. Discussing thorny
issues, after all, is at the heart of what universities are about.
But too often, he said, that criticism is now
betraying simple prejudice. “Profoundly anti-Israel
views are increasingly finding support in progressive
intellectual communities,” Summers said.
Jewish student activists said the kind of campus climate
Summers described—which includes growing demands that
universities divest their portfolios of financial holdings in
Israel—has made them pariahs while silencing others. …
The Council on American-Islamic Relations said it
has received relatively few allegations—about a
dozen—of discrimination against Muslim students
and professors in the last year. One student at
Central Missouri State University alleged that after a
heated classroom exchange, a university administrator
called the Muslim student “un-American”.
But John Woods, director of the Center for Middle
Eastern Studies at the University of Chicago, said some
Jewish activists have unfairly targeted scholars,
assuming that someone who studies Arabic is
automatically anti-Israel and potentially anti-Semitic.
Woods particularly objects to the Web site
www.campus-watch.org, where scholars who back Israel
have posted notices since September about professors
and university departments considered anti-Israel.
Thinking the enterprise smacks of McCarthyism,
Woods recently sent an e-mail alerting colleagues to
what he considers an intimidation campaign.
Amy Newhall, executive director of the Middle
East Studies Association, noted that Campus Watch
urges students to report on their professors,
potentially discouraging lecturers from talking
freely—especially those not protected by tenure.
“Now, professors have to worry that someone is
secretly monitoring them,” Newhall said.
Campus conflict over the Middle East began to
worsen toward the end of the previous academic year.
In May, when the Hillel chapter at San Francisco State
University attempted to hold a peace demonstration, San
Francisco police officers had to escort Jewish students
off campus after a threatening crowd surrounded them.
A similar clash at the University of California at
Berkeley, on Holocaust Remembrance Day, led to the
arrest of 79 pro-Palestinian demonstrators.
The Berkeley administration also felt obliged to take a
hand in the case of a controversial freshman course
offering, “English 1A: The Politics and Poetics of
Palestinian Resistance.” The last line in the course
description read, “Conservative thinkers are encouraged
to seek other sections”—implying that dissent from a
pro-Palestinian position would not be tolerated.
The English department later acknowledged “a lapse in
oversight of its reading and composition courses”, and the
university stressed that students are not excluded from any
courses on the basis of political persuasion.
Some Jewish student activists at the University of
Chicago alleged that a similar pro-Palestinian, anti-Israeli
bias has crept into course offerings there. They said the
university doesn’t offer a course in the history of Israel,
which, they said, only shows up as a “problem” in courses
dealing with other Middle Eastern countries. …
When an alumnus took the issue to the administration,
Provost Richard Saller took a hands-off approach. “The
university’s long-standing policy does not call for the
central administration to take an active role in presenting
different views for the sake of balance,” he wrote in a letter.
Halper and other student activists also presented a list of
other complaints, which prompted the invitation to the Anti-
Defamation League to offer sensitivity training. Yet Saller said
only a few of the students’ allegations could be substantiated. …
[JR: If there is an issue worth bolstering, why resort to
exaggerations, accusations and censure when confronted
with an opposing point of view? The Jewish students are
simply reacting to criticisms. They could enlighten us all
on our own misconceptions by presenting us with their own
points of view, and not parrot the usual Zionist rhetoric
with rallying cries of Anti-Semitism. The ADL’s
involvement to train dorm advisers in so-called “sensitivity
training” is solely to bolster the Jewish students resolve,
and to recruit them in their crusades for preservation.
The ADL’s presence on the campuses is not to diffuse but
to elevate the discord through the process of targeting and
intimidation. The issues need to be discussed by both sides
so that a common denominator can be found and we can
begin the work to put an end to the endless cycle of
dissensions and wars. We need to emphasize our
similarities and not focus so much on what divides us.
It has to begin somewhere so why not on the campuses
and in the supposedly higher halls of learning.]
NORTH KOREA CLAIMS RIGHT
TO DEVELOP NUCLEAR WEAPONS

MOSCOW (AFP, AP)—North Korea has a right to
develop nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction
because of the United States threat to its sovereignty,
Pyongyang’s ambassador to Moscow said yesterday
in the first firm defence of the communist state’s
clandestine military programme.
But Mr. Pak Hui Chun denied that North Korea
was actually developing a nuclear arsenal, calling
such accusations from the U.S. “groundless”.
“We unambiguously told the U.S. presidential special envoy
that, facing a growing nuclear threat from the U.S., we have the
right to possess not only nuclear, but even more powerful,
weapons in order to defend our sovereignty and the right
to survive,” news agencies quoted Mr. Pak as saying.
“If the U.S. tries to crush us with tough policy,
we will retaliate to this with super toughness,” he
said in a rare appearance before Russian reporters.
On a softer note, he said North Korea preferred to
resolve the conflict “through talks, not deterrence”.
Meanwhile, a South Korean official said the
foreign ministers of the U.S., Japan and South Korea
would meet in Seoul this month, on the sidelines of
an international meeting on democracy, to discuss
Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons programme.
N. KOREA PRESENTS UNPLEASANT CHOICES

Flush with our victory in Afghanistan, poised to invade
and occupy Iraq, the United States bestrides the globe like
a colossus. But Gulliver was big too, and he found that
Lilliputians could be a great hindrance. We are now
learning that lesson from a primitive Stalinist backwater
with a puny economy and just 21 million people.
The North Korean government recently surprised the
Bush administration by admitting it has pursued nuclear
weapons in violation of a 1994 agreement. The
administration was not surprised by the program, which it
had detected and brought up with the North Koreans—
only by their candor about what they had done. They
acknowledged having “other more powerful things as well”,
reported the New York Times, which apparently
means chemical or biological weapons.
As if this distraction from Iraq weren’t enough, U.S.
intelligence officials say the supplier of technology for the
nuclear program was our cherished ally in the war on terror:
Pakistan. The administration is justifying an invasion of Iraq
to prevent nuclear proliferation—while forging close ties with
a dictator who helps our enemies get doomsday weapons.
What the North Koreans are up to is a puzzle. The
admission could be taken as a warning of the consequences
we can expect if we deal with them the way we propose to
deal with Saddam Hussein. But some experts think the
North Koreans were coming clean as a step toward abandoning
their program—if they can get something in return.
At the moment, though, no one in Washington is very
interested in bartering. The Bush administration
pronounced the death of the 1994 deal, which obligated the
U.S. and other countries to provide North Korea with fuel
oil and help in building two nuclear reactors. …
Punishing Pyongyang through diplomatic isolation and
economic sanctions sounds like a great idea until you
remember that we tried that approach for 40 years. What
did we get? The same nuclear weapons program that the
1994 agreement was intended to extinguish. Kim Jong Il’s
government has proven quite able to endure pariah
status and a starving population when it has to.

The Iraq formula—using military force to remove a
hostile government—is out of the question. To begin with,
North Korea has a large army, and it could inflict
catastrophic damage on Seoul, a city of 10 million in artillery
range of the Demilitarized Zone. We could win a war on
the peninsula, but only at an intolerable price.
That’s without even taking into account any
weapons of mass destruction the North Koreans may
have. The CIA says they probably produced one or
two nuclear weapons before accepting the 1994 deal.
South Korea and Japan see no real alternative to
negotiation, which has already led to improvement of
relations between those two countries and North Korea.
But it’s hard to hold out great hope for a process that
Pyongyang has badly discredited.
So what does that leave? Accepting something—a
nuclear North Korea—that we may not be able to
change. It’s not as though Kim Jong Il can use nukes
for any aggressive purpose, since doing so would mean
total destruction. Our conventional forces and nuclear
arsenal are perfectly capable of containing North Korea
in the future, just as they have in the past.
But this latest development ought to remind Americans
that even the world’s only superpower can be stymied. Many
nations have powerful incentives to acquire nuclear weapons
and—as Iraq, Pakistan and North Korea have demonstrated—
they are willing to pay a high price to do so.
Nukes, after all, are the best way to assure a
government’s survival. The only reason we can plan on
invading Iraq and toppling Saddam Hussein is that he
hasn’t gotten those weapons yet. Any government that
has serious disagreements with the U.S.—and particularly
any on our “axis of evil”—knows that if we can decide who
rules Iraq, we may later decide who rules other nations.
There is only one protection: going nuclear.
The Bush administration has big plans for remaking the
world to suit its preferences. We shouldn’t be surprised if
some countries will do everything they can to resist those
plans, and we shouldn’t be surprised if some succeed.
[JR: It would seem that the North Korean government is
the little mouse that has startled the Republican Hannibals
with their admission that despite their signed agreement
with the Clintonites in 1994, they went ahead with their
own development of a nuclear weapons program. To make
matters worse they succeeded in attaining the cooperation
from our closest ally in our war against terrorism,
PAKISTAN! So now the big question is just who can the
U.S. really trust as an ally? This is the dilemma that the
Bush Administration is forced to deal with. The U.S. can
be greatly faulted for making it our primary policy to
flaunt our own weapons of mass destruction to intimidate
other countries. It was to be expected that other countries
would feel the necessity to build their own weapon systems
for their own protection. The Bush Administration has, if
anything, succeeded in engaging the whole world in
another arms race. The U.S. is now seen as an aggressor
and a major threat to the sovereignty of every country.
North Korea has cleverly chosen this point in time
to show us up and to prove to the rest of the world
that we can be vulnerable in imposing and enforcing
U.S. demands on others. That is the problem that
the hawks in Washington now have to deal with.]

The maker of Tylenol will finally have to admit
that it is a dangerous drug
After 25 years of study a Food and Drug
Administration advisory panel decided last week to
recommend that acetaminophel, the active ingredient in
Tylenol, America’s most popular non-prescription drug
should carry an explicit label warning about potential
liver damage. “You cannot allow more innocent men,
women and children to suffer,” said Kate Trunk at the
FDA hearing before the advisory panel’s vote. Her son
recently died from liver disease after taking an
acetaminophen drug after injuring his wrist.
Even the possibility that a problem exists in
acetaminophen came as a shock to many Americans,
55 million of whom use Tylenol each year. Johnson
and Johnson, a big drugs company, made Tylenol
into a huge success with advertising campaigns
boasting, “Nothing’s safer”. …
But while J&J was quick to address external threats
it only grudgingly faced up to problems with
acetaminophen itself. The distinction between a safe
and a harmful dosage is particularly narrow and it can
be toxic in relatively small quantities. According to
documents that emerged in lawsuits J&J was aware that
explicit health warning would damage TYLENOL sales.
Perhaps not coincidentally, its labels in most cases bear no
reference to the potential harm in taking acetaminophen.
Each year there are 56,000 emergency room visits
because of acetaminophen overdoses and 100 fatalities, says
the FDA. According to William Lee of the University of
Texas Southwestern Medical Centre, acetaminophen is the
leading cause of acute liver failure. In a recent FDA study
of patients with liver damage linked to acetaminophen, 20%
had used less than the recommended daily dosage.
Yet Tylenol-related lawsuits have rarely succeeded. It
is difficult to link cause and effect definitely in a medical
case. Many people use the drug without problems. Often
J&J has in effect argued that the victim could not prove that
the recommended dose had been precisely followed. …
[JR: However, the FDA tried in 1977, 1988 and 1993 to
force a warning on the label but each time was defeated
by TYLENOL’s lobbying. Acetaminophen also is known
as paracetamol and N-acetyl-p-aminophenol (APAP).
Acetaminophen is the most widely used pharmaceutical
analgesic and antipyretic agent in the United States and
the world; it is contained in more than 100 products.
As such, acetaminophen is one of the most common
pharmaceuticals associated with both intentional and
accidental poisoning. “In the US: Acetaminophen or
APAP is one of the most common agents in overdose
reported to the American Association of Poison Control
Centers. APAP toxicity is the most common cause of
hepatic failure requiring liver transplantation in the
United States and Great Britain” (emedicine.com).
What you don’t know can and often does hurt you but
the big boys want to keep you ignorant. Never mind
the side effects, if it works and it makes J&J
billions then it is good—for them—NOT US!]
THE CARNIVAL

The group stood… ready to set off for Yosemite
almost a continent away.
They had heard about the long, plummeting
cascades of white water spraying wide in abandon over
the land’s edge as if learning to fly, and the paralyzing
cold Merced River slipping through the valley, the silver
master-line of life and the stark smooth cliffs, bleached,
sprouting green tufts, playing at blocking the sun.
The group could almost smell the fragrant breeze
carrying pine and juniper scents and earthy whiffs of
the small, rugged wildflowers nestled as green stuff
all along the forest valley floor.
Almost there, at the bottom of the first rise, the primary
hint of majesty to come, they looked to their left.
Two hundred yards away, almost out of sight
stood a tall, thin man beckoning.
He was dressed in a black Lincolnesk hat, a wide
red tie, black and white stripped trousers, and a black
shiny jacket split into tails.
His arm was moving robotically, like dead Captain
Ahab’s arm as the white whale turned the trapped corpse
to and fro. The man’s smile seemed practiced, yet genuine.
Curious, they walked towards him and heard the
faint calliope music of a merry-go-round.
Tinkling bells and great rushes of deep notes
mixed together in rhythm, the energy of pumping
horses forever in one place on a moving disc.
What to make of this! What to do!
To go on, straight toward the hidden mountain to take
the trek to unseen territory merely envisioned, or to pause
and rest and visit the carnival familiar and fun offering itself.
Popcorn and hot dog odors mixed with screams from
the roller-coaster riders erased the nebulous.
They chose proximity and as one they moved past the
beckoning charmer and headed for the merry-go-round.
A full day passed, and there were still swirling tea cups
to excite the blood and a jungle boat tour with awesome
surprises, and a giant ferris wheel turning itself with
swaying seats, up and down in endless cycling.
The next day promised a parade of make believe
creatures and free cotton candy and a band with 10
electronic guitars and two drummers at sundown.
Some in the group wanted a turn in the bumper-car
arena which would open the next morning.
And so they stayed… on and on. Outside the
beckoner still waved and smiled as his coattails
flapped out behind him.
As the group left the carnival, a strange, lost
feeling filled each traveler.
They walked over the ground they had once walked
to get here, and nothing about it was the same.
They could not remember what they had been
doing before the carnival!
They could not remember their mission or destination.
They looked toward Yosemite but did not see it.
Eyes searched other eyes hoping for clues, if not answers.
Now they could not go back to the carnival with
any enthusiasm, and they could not go elsewhere
without direction and purpose.
They turned and walked past the beckoner and
entered the carnival grounds once more.
They headed for the arena where there would be
horse races today, and the tall man smiled.

FDA APPROVES IMPLANTABLE
CHIP SALES IN HUMANS

A surprise decision by the Food and Drug
Administration permits the use of implantable ID
chips in humans, despite an FDA investigator’s
recent public reservations about the devices.
The FDA sent chip manufacturer Applied Digital
Solutions (ADS) a letter stating that the agency
would not regulate the VeriChip if it was used for
“security, financial and personal identification or
safety applications,” ADS said Tuesday.
But the FDA has not determined whether the
controversial chip can be used for medical purposes,
including linking to medical databases, the company added.
In the United States, ADS has principally marketed
VeriChip as a life-saving tool, saying, for example, that
unconscious patients brought to emergency rooms could
be scanned to determine their medical histories.

Repeated phone calls to the FDA’s press office were
not returned Tuesday, and ADS refused to provide the
media with a copy of the agency’s letter.
The decision comes five months after ADS made
international headlines by implanting three members of a
Florida family with the VeriChip, which is slightly larger than
a grain of rice and emits a 125-kilohertz radio frequency signal
that can be picked up by a scanner up to four feet away.
In an interview earlier this month, FDA
investigator Wally Pellerite said he was unaware of
any implantable device that was not regulated by the
FDA. Cosmetic implants—including breast and penile
enhancers—undergo a rigorous FDA examination to
determine their effect on the human body despite
having no medical function.
Although ID chips have been used in animals for
years, they may have “inherent risks” when used in
humans, Pellerite said in the interview.
On Tuesday, Pellerite referred questions to the
FDA press office.
“At this point, I can’t say anything other than to
represent what the official agency opinion is in this matter,”
he wrote in an e-mail. “Previously I was free to give you
both sides of the argument and to point out the pros and
cons to each. I am no longer free to do that.”
Applied Digital Solutions has gotten into hot water
in the past for issuing conflicting statements to the
media and to the FDA about the VeriChip’s intended
use. In May, the FDA launched an investigation into
the VeriChip when the company repeatedly referred to
the chip as a medical lifesaver in the media, yet
assured officials it was merely an identification device.
Tuesday’s press release was also confusing, with
ADS repeatedly referring to VeriChip as a medical
device despite the fact that the FDA has not ruled
whether the chip may be used for health purposes.
ADS president Scott Silverman did not
comment on the release, but said he was pleased
with the FDA’s decision.
“We’ll now go into high gear with our sales,
marketing and distribution plans in the U.S.,” he
said, adding that the company would be focusing on
the security and ID aspects of the microchip.
Silverman said security applications could include
using the chip to control access to sensitive structures
such as nuclear power plants, government buildings
or private businesses. An example of an ID
application could include “chipping” an Alzheimer’s
patient who suffers memory loss and wanders away
from home, he added.
Richard Smith, a privacy expert (http://
www.computerbytesman.com/) who follows the
VeriChip, suggested the device should have been
subjected to a full FDA review to determine its safety.
“Does ADS have any data for complications of
VeriChips being installed in animals?” Smith asked.
“Are there ever infection problems or autoimmune
rejections? Since the FDA has chosen to not test the
device, the next best thing is to try to understand if
there have been health-related problems in animals.”
Meanwhile, Leslie Jacobs, the matriarch of the
Florida family chipped in May, said she hoped the FDA
would approve the VeriChip for medical use. Both her
husband and son experience ongoing health problems.
“People who need this should be able to elect to
have it,” she said. “The VeriChip could help saves lives.”

a most unusual question from
a totally “out of the blue”
person: “It appears Spectrum
will fail, possibly close, so will
you go back to writing for
CONTACT or what?”
I have never stopped writing
for CONTACT—but I have
NOT written, nor have my
compatriots written for
Spectrum. Tails wag a lot of
dogs, my friends. Therefore,
“or what” has no meaning.
