HEATER-AIR CONDITIONING CONTROLS
Heater-Air Conditioning Controls
Your heat and air conditioning controls are mounted in the
“D” instrument panel in conventional models.
WARNING! Exhaust fumes from the engine
contain carbon monoxide, a colorless and
odorless gas. Do not breathe the engine
exhaust gas. A poorly maintained, damaged, or
corroded exhaust system can allow carbon
monoxide to enter the cab or sleeper. Entry of
carbon monoxide into the cab is also possible
from other vehicles nearby. Failure to properly
maintain your vehicle could cause carbon
monoxide to enter the cab/sleeper, causing
death, injury or serious illness.
WARNING! Never idle your vehicle for prolonged
periods of time if you sense that
exhaust fumes are entering the cab or
sleeper. Investigate the cause of the fumes
and correct it as soon as possible. If the vehicle
must be driven under these conditions,
drive only with the windows open. Failure to
repair the source of the exhaust fumes may
lead to death, injury or personal harm.
CONTROLS AND DISPLAY
NOTES:
•Keep the engine exhaust system and the vehicle’s
cab/sleeper ventilation system properly
maintained. It is recommended that the vehicle’s
exhaust system and cab/sleeper be inspected:
– By a competent technician every 15,000 miles
– Whenever a change is noticed in the sound of
the exhaust system
– Whenever the exhaust system, underbody, cab
or sleeper is damaged
•To allow for proper operation of the vehicle ventilation
system, keep the inlet grille at the base of
the windshield clear of snow, ice, leaves and
other obstructions at all times.
