There is a guard over this switch to protect you<br />

against accidentally activating or releasing the lock.<br />

Parking Brake Valve and Trailer Air Supply<br />

Valve<br />

Before you leave the cab, apply all parking brakes.<br />

FIFTH WHEEL<br />

WARNING! Do not move the fifth wheel while<br />

the tractor-trailer is in motion. Movement of<br />

the fifth wheel while a tractor-trailer is moving<br />

can cause a serious accident involving death<br />

or personal injury. Your load could shift suddenly,<br />

causing you to lose control of the vehicle.<br />

Never operate the vehicle with the switch<br />

in the unlock position. Always inspect the<br />

fifth wheel after you lock the switch to be sure<br />

the fifth wheel is engaged.<br />

Vehicles having an air slide fifth wheel have a fifth wheel<br />

slider lock controlled by a switch on the instrument panel.<br />

By placing the switch in the unlock position, you can slide<br />

1. Apply all parking brakes. Pull out the Yellow Parking<br />

Brake Control knob (1) located on the dash. In tractors,<br />

the Red (octagon-shaped) Trailer Air Supply<br />

Control knob (2) will automatically pop out.<br />
