PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE<br />

ENGINE MAINTENANCE<br />

WARNING! The exhaust piping can become<br />

extremely hot during engine operation and<br />

can cause personal injury including serious<br />

burns to the skin. Allow adequate cooling<br />

time before working near any part of the<br />

exhaust system.<br />

2. Remove the pump protective plate mounted on the<br />

bottom of the DEF tank.<br />

Engine Accesories: Accessory Drive Belts<br />

3. Using a 27 mm socket wrench (DIN3124), remove the<br />

filter cap that is screwed to the DEF Supply pump.<br />

You can extend the reliability and service life of your vehicle's<br />

drive belts with proper attention to installation, and<br />

maintenance. Neglect could cause belt failure. The result<br />

could be the loss of the electrical or air system as well as<br />

possible engine damage from overheating. So it’s a very<br />

good idea to check your belts frequently and replace them<br />

as soon as you detect trouble.<br />

Follow this procedure to install an accessory drive belt:<br />
