SEATS<br />

• Belts should fit snugly across the pelvis and chest.<br />

Make sure any slack is wound up on the retractor.<br />

To unfasten the belt:<br />

Push in the release button on the buckle. The belt will<br />

spring out of the buckle.<br />

• To release a locked belt, lean back to take the body<br />

pressure off of the belt.<br />

• To store a lap-shoulder belt, allow the belt to wind up<br />

on the retractor by guiding the belt tongue until the<br />

belt comes to a stop.<br />

Proper Safety Belt Adjustment<br />

Your combination lap-shoulder belt may need adjustment.<br />

Adjust safety belts properly.<br />

• The lap belt should be worn as low and tight on the<br />

hips as possible. Make sure any slack is taken up by<br />

the belt mechanism.<br />

• The shoulder belt should fit snugly across your body.<br />

It should be positioned midway over the shoulder<br />

(nearer to the door); it should never rest against your<br />

neck.<br />
