Preventive Maintenance
Engine Cooling System
Cooling Hoses Check the radiator and heater hoses for leaks. X X
Extended Life Coolant (ELC) Check the freeze point (see page 174). X
Check for contamination using test strips (see page 175).

Replace blank water filter if applicable.

Perform lab analysis (see page 175).

If lab analysis shows coolant is unsuitable for continued use
Flush, drain, and refill (see page 174).
Add ELC Extender (see page 175).
Flush, drain, and refill with new coolant (see page 174).

Fan clutch housing Check for air leaks. X X
Surge Tank Fill Cap Check fill cap seal at each oil change. X X X X X X
