Preventive Maintenance<br />

• The Chassis/Serial Number refers to the last seven characters<br />

of the VIN, including the assembly plant designator<br />

(eleventh character position) and a six-digit serial<br />

number. This number will allow your <strong>Peterbilt</strong> Dealer to<br />

identify your vehicle. You will be asked for this number<br />

when you bring your vehicle in for service.<br />

The chassis/serial number is shown in three places:<br />

• Right frame rail, top flange, about 3 ft. from the front end<br />

• Components and Weights Label on driver’s door frame<br />

• Tire and Rim Info Label on driver’s door frame<br />
