SEATS
WARNING! Do not drive vehicle without your
seat belt and your riders’ belts fastened.
Riding without a safety belt which is properly
fastened can lead to increased death or injury
in an accident. Unbelted riders could be
thrown into the windshield or other parts of
the cab or could be thrown out of the cab.
They could strike another person. Injuries can
be much worse when riders are unbelted.
Always fasten your seat belt and be sure anyone
riding with you does the same.
Lap/Shoulder Belt
The combination lap-shoulder belt is equipped with a locking
mechanism. The system adjusts automatically to a
person's size and movements as long as the pull on the
belt is slow.
Hard braking or a collision locks the belt. The belt will also
lock when driving up or down a steep hill or in a sharp
curve.
To fasten the belt:
1. Grasp the belt tongue.
2. Pull the belt in a continuous slow motion across your
chest and lap.
3. Insert the belt tongue into the buckle on the inboard
side of the seat.
4. Push down until the tongue locks securely (with an
audible click). Pull on the belt to check for proper fastening.
• Pull the shoulder section to make sure the belt fits
snugly across the chest.
• The shoulder belt must be positioned over the shoulder—it
must never rest against the neck.
