Proper Safety Belt Adjustment
PART 5: SEAT AND RESTRAINT SYSTEMS
belts
Safety Restraint Belts
WARNING!
• Always wear your seat belt low over your
pelvic bones.
• You can be seriously injured if your belt is
buckled too high. In a crash, it would apply
force to your abdomen, not your pelvic
bones. This can result in serious internal injuries.
• Do not drive with your seat belt loose. A seat
belt that is too loose can allow you to fall too
far forward, possibly causing head and neck
injuries. You could strike the wheel or the
windshield. Adjust your belt so that there is
no more than 1 in. (25mm) of slack.
