Mirrors Mirrors WARNING! Optional convex outside rear-view mirrors make objects appear smaller and farther away than they really are. You could have an accident if you were too close to another vehicle or other object. Keep plenty of space between your vehicle and others when you turn or change lanes. Remember that other objects are closer than they seem. PART 4: CONTROLS AND DISPLAYS Your vehicle is equipped with outside mirrors to enable you to see to the sides and behind your vehicle. Be sure they are adjusted properly before you drive off. You will have the best field of view to the side if you adjust each mirror so you can just see the side of your vehicle in the inboard part of the mirror. – 56 – Y53-6015 R(08/<strong>07</strong>)

Seat Belts And Their Proper Use Seat (or safety) belts have proven to be the single most effective means available for reducing the risk of serious injury and death in motor vehicle accidents. It’s not just an opinion -- it’s a fact: Seat belts save lives. WARNING! • Do not drive or ride with your seat back in the reclined position. You could be injured by sliding under the seat belts in a collision. • Do not adjust the driver’s seat while the vehicle is moving. The seat could move suddenly and unexpectedly and can cause you to lose control of the vehicle. Make all adjustments to the seat while the vehicle is stopped. After adjusting the seat and before driving off, ensure that the seat is firmly latched in position. WARNING! Do not drive vehicle without your seat belt and your riders’ belt fastened. Riding without a safety belt properly fastened can lead to increased injury or death in an emergency. Unbelted riders could be thrown into the windshield or other parts of the cab or could be thrown out of the cab. They could strike another person. Injuries can be much worse when riders are unbelted.
