Tampering with Noise Control System Prohibited<br />

Storing and Reintroducing Vehicles Into<br />

Service<br />

To help maintain a vehicle in storage as well as ease its<br />

reintroduction into service, perform the following actions at<br />

least monthly:<br />

• Wash and protect painted and metal surfaces, and<br />

also weatherstripping, as outlined in the preceding<br />

“Appearance” information.<br />

• Operatethevehicletocirculatefluids and lubricants<br />

that have settled to the lowest part of a component.<br />

This will provide protection against corrosion on gears<br />

and bearings and keep seals resilient. Before starting<br />

the engine, do the following:<br />

– Check the engine oil level and fill as required.<br />

– Check and maintain batteries as outlined on "Battery<br />

Care".<br />

– Drain any condensation from the fuel/water separator,<br />

if so equipped.<br />

– Start the engine and bring to normal operating temperature:<br />

– Operate the air conditioning system at least 15 minutes.<br />

– Drive the vehicle a short distance to allow lubricants<br />

to circulate in the transmission and axles.<br />

Noise Emission Warranty<br />

<strong>Peterbilt</strong> <strong>Motors</strong> Company warrants to the first person who<br />

purchases this vehicle for purposes other than resale and<br />

to each subsequent purchaser that this vehicle, as manufactured<br />

by <strong>Peterbilt</strong> <strong>Motors</strong> Company, was designed, built<br />

and equipped to conform at the time it left <strong>Peterbilt</strong>’s control<br />

with all applicable U.S. EPA Noise Control Regulations.<br />

This warranty covers this vehicle as designed, built and<br />

equipped by <strong>Peterbilt</strong>, and is not limited to any particular<br />

part, component or system of the vehicle manufactured by<br />

<strong>Peterbilt</strong>. Defects in design, assembly or in any part, component<br />

or system of the vehicle as manufactured by <strong>Peterbilt</strong>,<br />

which at the time it left <strong>Peterbilt</strong>’s control caused<br />

noise emissions to exceed Federal standards, are covered<br />

by this warranty for the life of the vehicle.<br />

Federal law prohibits the following acts or the causing<br />

thereof:<br />
