Replace a cushion clamp if the rubber has deteriorated. Repair or tighten terminals, and secure cables to prevent chafing. Replace damaged cables (cuts, cracks, or excessive wear) (see "Battery Care"). X Battery cables (VOCATIONAL & SEVERE SERVICE) Check the condition of the cables, cushion clamps, and routing.
