Case Details:
Victim Shree Ramesh Kumbhar, age 28, shopkeeper and member of the scheduled tribes, was told to
come to the Dunguripalli police station. Just when he arrived there the police officer began to beat him
accusing him of selling vine and keeping gundas in his shop. Ramesh told him that not he but his brother
was the owner of a vineshop.

Case Details:
Victim Sri Upendra Barik, age 32, cooli laborer and member of the OBC-community, tried to prevent
violence when Santanu Kumbhar and Lekaru of his village were attacking each other at a pan shop on
Kamsara Chhak. The officer-in-charge of Kamsara outpost came and beat him on his back and his
legs with his roll stick.

Victim Sri Gaura Naik, age 24, is a member of the OBC-community and driver by profession. When the
customer Prahallad Meher did not pay for renting a vehicle Gaura quarreled with him. A police patrol led
by Kariti Choudhury saw the incident and immediately beat Gaura with a roll stick. Afterwards the
situation became clear and Mrs. Choudhury ordered Prahallad to pay the money.
