Case Details:<br />
Victim Sarbeswar Mahalinga is a resident of Urley village. He had been to a local festival at Papakheya<br />
Ghata along with his friends on 15 th January 2008. The victim was drunk. There was a bullock race,<br />
and all the people were running hither and thither. At that moment the bullock dashed on Sarbeswar as<br />
a result of which he dashed upon Constable Durbadala Majhi. Strife ensued in which the Constable<br />
finding the victim drunk was enraged and beat up Sarbeswar. He tried to drag to victim to the Police<br />
Station but refrained from the same due to the request and intervention of local individuals.<br />

Victim Subash Tandi is a farmer residing in Bhramarapalli village. On 15 th January 2008 the victim had<br />
been to Papakhaya Ghata where many types of bazaar were established. After taking tea from a shop<br />
Subash went to play Ghudu Ghudu Kela. Though the victim lost the first time, he won Rs.500 during the<br />
second play. Then he went to take tea near a shop where a person came and demanded money from<br />
the victim. Subash denied the same, and the person started calling Subash a thief. A police constable<br />
came there and beat the victim. The stranger retorted that the remaining amount in the victim’s pocket<br />
was his but finally Subash took the constable to the Ghudu Ghudu Kela where it was proved that the<br />
money belonged to the victim. Later on the constable took the stranger to the police station.<br />
