The PC and Tusar Kanti Banerjee then took Asish Nandu to Titagarh PS, and later to Raninagar
PS, Patashpur PS, and Bhagbanpur PS, as well as to Asish Nandu’s elder sister’s home.
On 18 May 2007, the PC and Tusar Kanti Banerjee took Asish Nandu back to Titagarh PS,
where SI Argha Mukherjee investigated his case.
The police filed a case u/s 363/366 IPC (kidnapping, abducting or inducing a woman to compel
marriage, etc.).
Manas Mukherjee’s daughter returned after two days. Meanwhile, the officers of Titagarh PS
continued to detain Asish Nandu.
On 21 May 2007, Asish Nandu was produced before the Magistrate of Barrackpur Court.
On 24 May 2007, the Court referred the case to Juvenile Justice Board, which granted Asish
Nandu’s bail petition.

Victim Bajlur Rahman is 32 years old.
On 28 August 2006 at around 3.00am, five police officers led by SI Tuhin Biswas raided Bajlur
Rahman’s house without informing his family as to what or whom they were seeking. They
arrested Bajlur Rahman and beat him in front of his mother.
The police took Bajlur Rahman to the Jalangi PS and beat him. They produced him in the Court
of the CJM, Murshidabad after filing charges against him.
The case currently registered against Bajlur Rahman is Case No. 47 of 2006, dated 28.03.06.
The complainant in this case is Badi Mondal of Prasanna Nagar village, Jalangi. The only
accuseds named in the original FIR were Sanjay Sk. of Roshan Nagar and Tarangini Pramanik
