Case Details:
On 24 May 2007, police personnel from Karaya PS went Yasmin Banoo’s house. They asked
her, her husband Shaukat Ali, and her brother-in-law Manzar Hussein to come to the station on
the basis of a complainant by Reshma Azmi. One officer asked Yasmin Banoo, ostensibly as a
matter of law, to put on all of her ornaments; she did so, excepting her nose ring. When she
refused to put in her nose ring, the officer quarrelled with her.
