Jhumur Naskar had a relation with Ashoke Baisna. The two wanted to marry each other, but<br />
Jhumur Naskar’s family, including her maternal uncle, strongly objected.<br />
On 14 February 2006, Jhumur Naskar escaped her family and married Ashoke Baisna. The<br />
two stayed together at Subhasgram.<br />
Jhumur Naskar’s family lodged a missing person complaint at Jainagar PS.<br />

On 15 February 2006, SI Swarup Prakash Dhara arrested Jhumur Naskar and Ashoke Baisna<br />
at Subhasgram. He demanded Rs. 10,000 from Ashoke Baisna before compromising on Rs.<br />
4,000 and releasing both Jhumur Naskar and Ashoke Baisna.<br />
On 19 February 2006, the SI called Jhumur Naskar’s father to the station in order to collect his<br />
signature on the missing person complaint. Jhumur Naskar and her father went to the station.<br />
At the station, the SI asked Jhumur Naskar’s father to bring him some sweets. While Jhumur<br />
Naskar’s father was out purchasing the sweets, the SI raped Jhumur Naskar.<br />
Jhumur Naskar’s parents both pressured her to forget what happened. However, she went to<br />
Baruipur Thana and lodged a written complaint; the SI’s wife, Sumita Dhara, later pressured her<br />
to withdraw this complaint.<br />

On 5 January 2007, victim BSF ASI of 2 nd Battalion Mr. Madan Mohan<br />
Panja was assaulted by Medical Officer Dr. Narender Kohli near the<br />
‘Boxing Gate’. Later, while Dr. Kohli was intoxicated, he used abusive<br />
language while speaking on the phone to Mr. Panja’s wife Rekha Panja.<br />
On 7 January 2007, Dr. Kohli tried to molest Mrs. Panja when she went<br />
to his house to submit an application for her husband’s leave. After, the<br />
application was denied by General Diary Clark and Additional<br />
Commandant Adjutant Mr. Punit Kumar.
