On 12 May 2006 at 11.30am, victim Rita Biswas had an A/C in the Kanchrapara Branch of
Sahara India. There, she met Arup Kumar Dey, who listened to her problems and assured her
that she would get a job.
Arup Kumar Dey invited Rita Biswas to his home, where he showed her a movie having
pornographic scenes. Rita Biswas felt very uncomfortable, so she tried to escape – but Arup
Kumar Dey raped her.
Later, Rita Biswas rushed to the Khardah PS, but the police did not accept her complaint.
Rita Biswas and her husband Binay Biswas went to the Khardah PS many times, but the police
did not take any action.
On 17 August 2006, SI Vivekananda Mondal of Khardah PS recorded their complaint u/s 376
IPC (rape). Arup Kumar Dey surrendered before the Court.

The victim Rousana Bibi, owned poultry and reared cattle. On 1 st April, one of her goats and hen
had entered into the house of her neighbour Ashraf. Ashraf was annoyed beat the animals.
Later, Rousanara went to his house and protested. Asharf and his family assaulted Rousanara
and her daughter with sticks and weapons, injuring them.
