attached to the murder confessed their guilt at Berhampore Court, and released under bail on 8 th<br />

January 2007. Again these perpetrators attacked the relatives of Lalya, by blasting bomb. The family<br />

members of Lalya died on the spot. The matter was reported to the SI of Domkal Police Station. He went<br />

to the house of Sahajamal and Bellal Seikh along with eight policemen for investigation. Bellal was away<br />

from home, and the SI misbehaved with his widowed sister Chaira Bewa. He abused her with filthy<br />

words and assaulted her, owing to which the victim was hospitalized.<br />

Case Details:<br />

Victim Dilip Singha Roy, aged 28 was a resident was Taltali village, falling under the jurisdiction of Jalangi<br />

Police Station. The victim was a student of Jalangi Rabindra Mukta Bidyalaya. Dilip had some knowledge<br />

about electrical equipments, and took this as a part time job for incurring expenses for his studies. On<br />

26 th December 2007 Rathindra Nath Saha came from the Farajeepara BSF Camp and took Dilip for<br />

repairing some electrical problem in the camp. The victim rectified the problem and returned home. Dilip<br />

was again called to the camp late in the evening. The victim first hesitated but the villagers convinced him<br />

to go. Dilip checked the problem and stated it couldn’t be repaired immediately, and requested them to<br />

wait till the morning. But he was forced to repair it immediately. Thereby Dilip was handling the transformer<br />

and died of electric shock. The victim was taken to Sadhikar Dewar Hospital and the post mortem was<br />

conducted on 27 th December 2007. An unnatural death case was registered at Jalangi Police Station.<br />

The BSF Officials bribed the family of the deceased with goods like rice, potato, mustard oil, fish and<br />

spices in order to shut their mouths. The BSF Officials also sought the help of the village head Santosh<br />

Kumar Roy to work in their favour. Bimal Singha Roy, the father of Dilip was forced to sign in a blank<br />

paper.<br />
