Case Details:<br />
Victim Sabir Ansari is a reporter of a weekly newspaper called ‘Hindukal’ and also runs a small pan<br />
shop. He is a resident of Pilkhana, falling within the jurisdiction of Golabari Police Station. Sabir has a five<br />
year old son named Md. Sarique Ansari. On 4 th May 2007 the child was playing outside the house<br />
having taken his lunch. Later on he went to fetch water and never returned. Sabir and his wife lodged a<br />
missing diary at Golabari Police Station the very night. Sabir also contacted the Don Bosco Child Line,<br />
CID, MLA, MP, District Magistrate of Howrah, DIG, IB, Home Minister, SP, and many Non-Governmental<br />
Organizations. He also spent a substantial amount in the local cable TV channel. Despite such efforts the<br />
search is still going on. The victims feel that the police are just giving light replies, and not serious about<br />
the case.<br />

Case Details:<br />
Victim Md. Shamim is a resident of Pilkhana. His was married to Ruksana Begam and both have a<br />
three year old son named Reyaz, who was a student of Holymon Memorial School. On 4 th July 2007<br />
Reyas and his elder brother went to Karbala, where they were caught up in a commotion. Both were<br />
separated, after which Reyaz couldn’t be traced anywhere. Shamim registered a missing diary at<br />
Golabari Police Station the same day, and also approached the Criminal Investigation Department. He<br />
spent lots of money on advertisement and circulated posters with his son’s photograph hoping to get him<br />
back. The victims state that the police are just giving assurance that they will try to trace him but to no<br />
avail.<br />
