Case Details:<br />
There was a pigeon-pea mill named ‘Bishnukumar Bholanath’ owned by the Joyswal family. Victim Gita<br />
Ghosh’s house is situated in the 16 feet wide road, opposite this mill, at Gorapada Sarkar Lane, falling<br />
under the jurisdiction of Ultadanga Police Station. The perpetrators used the road in front of the victim’s<br />
house as a parking place for the heavy vehicles containing the goods of the mill. The residents of the<br />
area couldn’t move about because of this. Gita’s house was also substantially damaged when those<br />
vehicles hit the wall of the house. The victim lodged several complaints at Ultadanga Police Station but<br />
in vain. The perpetrators were sound people, and the police couldn’t do anything against them. Gita also<br />
lodged complaints with the Commissioner of Police, DC- ESD, DC- Traffic, SHRC, CM, Kolkata<br />
Municipal Corporation but there was no response. B. Banerjee, SI of Ultadanga Police Station took<br />
some photographs of the damaged part of the victim’s house but there wasn’t any positive outcome. On<br />
11 th October 2007, Debasis Ghosh, the son of the victim went on protest, and took away the vehicle key,<br />
but he was summoned to the police station and threatened to be filed under a theft case. The police forced<br />
him to return the key also.<br />

Case Details:<br />
Victim Gopal Das, aged 34, is a resident of Kanaipur, falling under the jurisdiction of Uttarpara Police<br />
Station. There were some controversies between the victim and Sudip Banerjee since long. Gopal had<br />
lodged several complaints before Chandanagar Police Station, SP of Hooghly, SDPO of Chandanagar,<br />
and Uttarpara Police Station from 20 th October 2006 to 5 th January 2007 but to no avail. A case was also<br />
proceeding at Calcutta High Court and the Court had ordered the police to render protection for Gopal<br />
and his wife Uma Das, but that too yielded no result. On 11 th March 2008 while Gopal was working in his<br />
own shop along with his wife and few other employees, two unknown miscreants came to the shop and<br />
threatened the victim to be murdered and abduct his wife. Soon the strangers struck Uma on her<br />
forehead that it bled severely. She started running and the men followed her, throwing bomb and firing at<br />
her. The local people also started chasing these men and got injured due to the bombing. The Uttarpara<br />
Police booked a FIR against Sudip but till date nobody has been arrested.<br />
