<strong>1.</strong>6 ORDER OF THE EVENTS<br />

<strong>1.</strong>6.1 Individual Competitions<br />

i) In the Finals of the Category “A” <strong>competition</strong>s the order of events must be as follows:<br />

Fencing, Swimming, Riding and Combined Event. The Combined Event must always be<br />

organised with handicap start.<br />

ii) In the qualifications for the finals of Category “A” <strong>competition</strong>s (four disciplines without<br />

Riding) and in all other <strong>competition</strong>s the order of events can be different and adjusted to<br />

the LOC's needs. However, in the qualifications for the finals of Category “A”<br />

<strong>competition</strong>s, Combined Event must be the final event.<br />

<strong>1.</strong>6.2 Relay Competitions<br />

The order of events is Fencing or Swimming, Riding and Combined Event.<br />

<strong>1.</strong>6.3 Warm-up<br />

i) The LOC must provide pentathletes with a minimum warm-up period before each event<br />

as follows:<br />

a) Fencing: 30 mins;<br />

b) Swimming: 20 mins;<br />

c) Riding: 20 mins;<br />

d) Combined Event: 20 minutes running and shooting.<br />

The warm-up period is considered to be an integral part of the <strong>competition</strong>. During the<br />

<strong>competition</strong>s, the warm-up areas are only at the disposal of those participants<br />

competing on that day and at that time.<br />

ii) Coaches can assist the athletes in the warm-up periods, but they must leave the FOP<br />

directly after the end of the warm-up and before the start of the events and go to the<br />

designated areas (in Riding they can assist until the entrance to the <strong>competition</strong> arena).<br />

<strong>1.</strong>6.4 Victory Ceremony<br />

The Victory ceremony is conducted immediately after the final event, no matter if there are<br />

protests or not. In Category “A” <strong>competition</strong>s, the LOC must play the national anthem of the<br />

Victor and the national flags of the medallists are displayed. Flags, mobile phones, cameras,<br />

electronic devices, bottles, items of sport equipment, political statements and accreditations<br />

are not allowed on the podium.<br />
