Every NF has the right to participate with 1 pentathlete per World Cup <strong>competition</strong>. In<br />

exceptional circumstances, the maximum number can be 4 pentathletes per nation.<br />

However, the maximum number allowed is 3 pentathletes per nation. The host NF is allowed<br />

to participate with a maximum of 12 pentathletes. If there are free places, other pentathletes<br />

can be invited.<br />

i) For the World Cup Final, the maximum number of participants per NF is 3 pentathletes.<br />

ii) If there are free places, other pentathletes can be invited.<br />

<strong>1.</strong>12.6 Participation in World Ranking Competitions<br />

World Ranking Competitions are qualification <strong>competition</strong>s for the pentathletes for the World<br />

Championships and points are achieved for PWR lists. The LOC must ensure the minimum<br />

number of participating NFs and pentathletes as specified in Article <strong>1.</strong>19.2 ii) to make the<br />

qualification valid for PWR.<br />

<strong>1.</strong>12.7 Participation in Champion of Champions<br />

18 pentathletes per gender are invited by UIPM to compete in the Champion of Champions<br />

<strong>competition</strong> and they are as follows:<br />

* the 6 Continental Champions,<br />

* the 3 medallists from the current year’s World Senior Championships,<br />

* the top 3 pentathletes from the current year’s World Cup Final,<br />

* the current Olympic Champion,<br />

* all the Senior World Champions of the Olympic period,<br />

* the current World Junior Champion,<br />

* 1 or 2 pentathletes from host nation if not already qualified<br />

If it is still necessary to reach the quota, the best pentathletes from the PWR list dated 30<br />

days before the <strong>competition</strong> will be invited.<br />

<strong>1.</strong>12.8 Participation in Continental Championships<br />

The <strong>rules</strong> of chapters <strong>1.</strong>12.1 – <strong>1.</strong>12.5 will be applied for Continental Championships<br />

accordingly.<br />

<strong>1.</strong>13 OFFICIALS PARTICIPATION<br />

<strong>1.</strong>13.1 Number of Officials<br />

In Individual <strong>competition</strong>s, each NF may be represented in each gender by a maximum of 2<br />

officials when there are 2 or more pentathletes from that NF, or by 1 official when there is 1<br />

pentathlete competing. For the Relay <strong>competition</strong>, 2 officials may represent each team.<br />

<strong>1.</strong>13.2 Other Persons’ Conditions<br />

Other persons may attend the <strong>competition</strong> with the agreement of the LOC under the financial<br />

conditions as stated in Article <strong>1.</strong>15.<br />

<strong>1.</strong>14 ENTRIES AND ACCREDITATION<br />

<strong>1.</strong>14.1 Dates for Entries<br />

For UIPM Category “A” and “B” <strong>competition</strong>s, except for World Cup <strong>competition</strong>s, the<br />

deadline for receipt of preliminary entries is 4 weeks before the beginning of the <strong>competition</strong><br />

and 2 weeks for final entries. For World Cups, final entries must be received at latest 60<br />

days before the <strong>competition</strong>. If the deadline for final entries is missed, the NF or individual<br />

pentathlete is considered as non-participating and can be replaced by another NF or<br />

pentathlete upon invitation.<br />

<strong>1.</strong>14.2 Final Entries<br />

In the final entries, NFs must list the names of the pentathletes, reserves and officials<br />

attending the <strong>competition</strong>. No delegation may arrive at the <strong>competition</strong> with more than the<br />

invited number of pentathletes and officials including substitutes.<br />
