What is CMBOR?
The Centre for Management Buy-out Research is supported by Barclays Private Equity
Limited and was founded in March 1986 to monitor and analyse management buy-outs in a
comprehensive and objective way. It has developed a wide-ranging and detailed database
which provides the only set of statistics on management buy-outs and buy-ins in the UK and
Continental Europe. The Centre is part of Nottingham University Business School. Visit

Why do I need CMBOR reports?
Across the range of CMBOR reports, you’ll have access to independent quantitative data
spanning a number of years which means you can verify industry trends across your chosen
region.
The reports contain charts and graphs ideal for your reporting purposes which cover such
data as: deal value and volume; regional distribution; industry sectors; source of deals;
public to private deals; pricing and deal structure, and exit trends.
Each of the CMBOR reports contains added journalistic content from PEI Media summing up

Yes. CMBOR compiles data as provided directly from a large range of institutions across the
UK and Europe. Whilst CMBOR receives philanthropic support from Barclays Private Equity
to assist them to operate, their work is completely impartial and independent.
