• Lack <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> adequate formal <strong>and</strong> informal training curricula <strong>on</strong> genderbased<br />

violence.<br />

Acti<strong>on</strong>s:<br />

• Develop modules <strong>and</strong> support gender training for all United Nati<strong>on</strong>s<br />

organizati<strong>on</strong>s <strong>and</strong> agencies, internati<strong>on</strong>al NGOs <strong>and</strong> government<br />

agencies;<br />

• Develop modules <strong>on</strong> codes <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> c<strong>on</strong>duct, <strong>and</strong> support training for<br />

youth <strong>on</strong> sexual educati<strong>on</strong>, to include safety guidelines <strong>and</strong> c<strong>on</strong>flict<br />

resoluti<strong>on</strong>, am<strong>on</strong>g others;<br />

• Use established peer educati<strong>on</strong> programmes against gender-based<br />

violence to increase awareness <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> impact <strong>on</strong> reproductive health;<br />

• Develop modules <strong>on</strong> codes <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> c<strong>on</strong>duct <strong>and</strong> support training for<br />

security <strong>and</strong> police pers<strong>on</strong>nel at internati<strong>on</strong>al, regi<strong>on</strong>al <strong>and</strong> nati<strong>on</strong>al<br />

levels;<br />

• Adapt <strong>and</strong>/or develop modules, <strong>and</strong> support training for survivors,<br />

to include safety guidelines, impact <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> gender-based violence, <strong>and</strong><br />

treatment informati<strong>on</strong>;<br />

• Adapt <strong>and</strong>/or develop modules <strong>and</strong> support training <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> trainers for<br />

selected health-care providers <strong>and</strong> social service workers, forensic<br />

doctors <strong>and</strong> psychologists, to include gender-based violencerelated<br />

counselling techniques, medical management <strong>and</strong> referral<br />

informati<strong>on</strong>;<br />

• Design <strong>and</strong> distribute targeted IEC materials <strong>on</strong> gender-based<br />

violence for the public, policy makers, health-care providers, social<br />

workers, police <strong>and</strong> teachers;<br />
