Nims: Beyond the Classroom
R. Frank Nims Middle School has much
to offer to students of the 21st Century.
True to the school theme, “Follow Me to
College,” Nims is a school that offers
everything from College Board’s Pre-AP
program to Florida Virtual School, as
well as a wide variety of extracurricular
activities through the 21st Century
program. Nims has an activity that will
meet the interests every student.
At Nims students are recognized and
rewarded for their hard work and
efforts put forth. Top students and
most improved students are recognized
for their efforts during the fall semester
by being selected as members of the
honor court.
Students leave Nims as well-rounded,
confident young adults with talents in
core subjects, performing arts, fine arts,
sports, visual design, robotic
engineering, and beyond!

SPRINGBOARD (PRE-AP)

National Junior
Honor Society
Nims Middle School is the only middle school in
Leon County to have a chapter of National Junior
Honor Society. Outstanding students with a grade
point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) meet the
scholarship requirement for membership.
Above Scholarship, students must also demonstrate
excellence in the areas of Leadership, Service,
Character, and Citizenship.
Springboard
Springboard is the foundational component for the
College Board’s College Readiness System, offering a
proven Pre-AP program that increases participation
and prepares a greater diversity of students for
success in AP, college, and beyond- without
remediation. Based on College Board Standards for
College Success and aligned to the Common Core
State Standards, Springboard offers the only
integrated college readiness solution that includes a
rigorous curriculum and formative assessments.

WHICH SELECTS A LIMITED NUMBER
OF STUDENTS EACH FALL
SEMESTER. SSTRIDE CLASSES
PROVIDE AN INTENSIVE AND
HANDS-ON LEARNING
ENVIRONMENT FOR STUDENTS
WITH A PASSION FOR SCIENCE AND
MATH. STUDENTS LEARN SKILLS
RELATED TO THE MEDICAL FIELD.
