Migration tests<br />

and modeling: Overall migration and specific migration of monomers and additives<br />

tested as laid down in directive 97/48/EC and directive 85/572/EEC or<br />

estimated by migration modeling from the quantity of the substance in<br />

the finished material or article by the application of generally<br />

recognized diffusion models based on scientific evidence, in accordance<br />

with the practical guide supporting directive 2002/72/EC and its 4<br />

amendments.<br />

This certificate has been rendered in accordance with Articles 15, 16 and 17 of Regulation<br />

1935/2004 (EC) of the European Parliament and of the Council (of 27 October 2004) on<br />

materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.<br />

The tested UV-printed multilayer-samples comply with the legal stipulations of Regulation<br />

1935/2004 (EC), of Commission Directive 2002/72/EC and its 4 amendments relating to plastic<br />

materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs and the German<br />

“Lebensmittel-, Bedarfsgegenstände- und Futtermittelgesetzbuch (LFGB)”, first edition as from<br />

01.09.2005, and its amendments in conjunction with the “Bedarfsgegenständeverordnung<br />

(BedGgstV), newly formulated as from 17.04.1997, last change as from 20.12.2006, with<br />

respect to overall migration and specific migration of monomers and additives under the above<br />

specified conditions of use.<br />

This certificate of conformity relies on the product recipe disclosed to FABES, the performed<br />

migration and/or extraction tests, the migration estimation by modeling and the compliance<br />

statements submitted by the raw material producers.<br />

This certificate and the above mentioned test report are limited to the tested samples and do<br />

not represent a generally applicable statement on the quality of the continuous production.<br />

Any change in the recipe, the raw materials or the production process of the above mentioned<br />

product can have an impact on the food contact compliance. All these changes must be<br />

addressed to FABES immediately, otherwise the certificate will expire automatically. This<br />

certificate is valid as long as no major changes in the relevant regulations occur.<br />
