Art & Culture
Bay County and the surrounding areas are home to
many artists – musical, theatrical, visual and otherwise
– all brought here and inspired by the gorgeous
landscape that they call home. Free outdoor
concerts are enjoyed in both Panama City Beach and
Downtown Panama City during the balmy summer
months, and all styles of live music can be found at
evening hotspots throughout the year.
The Bay Arts Society brings national comedy, music,
arts and dance acts to the area each year, at such
local venues as the Marina Civic Center and the
Visual Arts Center. Panama City is home to the Kaleidoscope
Theatre, Bay County’s much acclaimed
community theatre, the Martin Theatre, and the
Amelia Center for the Performing Arts at Gulf Coast

Shopping
Panama City Beach has become the new shopping
mecca of Northwest Florida with the opening of Pier
Park in early 2008. Dubbed the new “Downtown of
Panama City Beach,” Pier Park offers a casual family
day at the beach...southern style with its 16-screen
state-of-the-art movie theatre and collection of
themed restaurants and fashionable retail shops.
Pier Park is nestled between Front Beach Road and
Panama City Beach Parkway (Highway 98) just east

Panama City Beach’s new visitor – the World-Class Resort
Enthusiast – will become a year-round fixture as
beautiful resorts continue to open, many showcasing
attractions, rides, cafes, restaurants, spas, fitness
centers, art galleries and boutiques. The shopping
plaza at Grand Panama Beach Resort incorporates
high fashion clothing and accessory boutiques with
a spa, wine tasting market and a host of souvenir
and classic beachside gift shops. The Shoppes at
Edgewater includes five-star dining, cafes, gift shops,
a movie theater, and large bowling center/family
entertainment complex.
